The answers:
According to Ashford (as cited in Nelson, R., 2015) “God has enabled all people—
Christian or not—to make good and valuable contributions in the cultural realm.” This
statement can be interpreted that God created man, one of which is to make cultural
contributions on the earth where they live.
Without humans, culture will not be formed. Because culture is not born by itself. It arises
from the human view of something. God's role in culture is also important. A culture is
formed because it is related to human belief in the teachings of God which they embrace.
For example, in Islam, God teaches or commands Muslims to perform Eid prayers every
year. From this event, the habit of eating ketupat emerged and the Halal Bi Halal event
which was held after the Eid prayer. The habit of eating ketupat and Halal Bi Halal is a
human contribution in a culture related to God. Culture is a characteristic of a society which
is given from generation to generation.
2. The correlation among Linguistics, Macro linguistics, and Sociolinguistics
Variations of language can occur in society due to social interactions carried out by people
from various groups. The language used between groups comes from different speakers,
resulting in a variety of languages. Apart from the varied groups, according to Dewi (as
cited in Nuryani, et al., 2018), language variations can also be caused in terms of education
level, age, gender and type of work.
According to Chaer and Agustina (2014), language variations are divided into four, they
are; variations in terms of speakers, variations in terms of usage, variations in terms of
formality, and variations in terms of facilities.
Examples of language variations that occur in society can be seen from research conducted
by Utami (2016) in Tambak Wedi Baru village, Surabaya. The results of this study
concluded that there were three variations of the language used by coastal communities in
the area, namely; Javanese language consisting of ngoko and krama, Madurese (Madura)
language, and Indonesian. Javanese language is obtained from people who come from
Javanese tribes, especially East Java, and the people of Surabaya. Then the Madurese
language was obtained from the Madurese people who live in Surabaya. Furthermore, the
latter is Indonesian which is influenced by people newly known in the area.
