TYPES OF LUBRICANT
＠ OF GASOLINE: Use regular automotive gasoline. ｩｧｨ･ｲ＠ octane
fuels ＠ ＠ used, but generally offer＠ advantages.

NOTE: When operating in any country other than the United States or
Canada, use any gasoline that will satisfactorHy operate an automotive
engine.

LUBRICANT: Use ＠ reputable outboard motor Ｎ＠ See inside front

＠ ＠
cover. If an outboard motor ＠ is not avaHable , ＠ good quality SAE ＠
＠ Ｂ＠ ＠ Ｂ＠ automotive ＠ ＠ ＠ used. The ＠ used should have Service ML-MM
or Service ＠ marked ＠ the container. Additional markings, such as
MS , DG, Ｌ＠ DS designate heavy duty and should ＠ avoided. Avoid low
priced, light duty oHs (container marked only with ML designation) ＠
multiple viscosity oils, such as SAE ＱＰｗＭＮ＠

IMPORTANT: Additive compounds such as "tune-up" compounds,

"tonics," "friction reducing" compounds, etc., are unnecessary and ＠
not recommended. The use of ＠ engine cleaner and ＠ rust pre-
ventive ＠ is recommended.

＠ ＠ Ｂ＠

GEARCASE

Remove plug and gasket from starboard side of gearcase. Turn motor
over, starboard side down. Allow ＠ to drain completely.

＠ refill, turn motor so lubrication hole is Ｌ＠ place ＠ tube of ＠

＠ Ｂ＠ Lubricant in hole as illustrated. Fill until lubricant appears
at hole and ｬ＠ air has escaped. Replace plug and gasket. Ｂ＠ ＠
Ｂ＠ LUBRICANT" which has ＠ formulated to protect against damage
to bearings and gears must ＠ used, as extensive damage ＠ result
from improper lubrication.
