My Country

India is the best example of the phrase ‘unity in diversity. People of all religions can be
found living here. Many different languages are spoken here. It is said that after every
100 kilometers or so, one can observe a change in food, clothes, language, and
houses.

Every region has its own festivals and its own customs. India is a land of great natural
beauty.

We are the largest producers of milk in the world.

Our culture dates back thousands of years. We have given the world yoga and
Ayurveda. We have made many other proud contributions in the field of science, maths,
philosophy, and music.

Spring Season 
The spring season in India is a season of two-month duration which are March and
April.

t is a pleasant and beautiful season with an average temperature of 32 degree


centigrade. It starts after the winter and lasts till summer starts. The day becomes
longer and nights become shorter in this season.

The people come out of the blankets and woollen clothes and start wearing light
clothes. They are filled with excitement and happiness.

Birds start chirping, singing and butterflies start hovering over the flowers.

Summer 
It is also a two-month duration season that includes the months of May and June. In
this season, the weather is very hot in most of the parts of India.
Due to the scorching sun and high temperature, the water level of ponds, rivers goes
down and people including animals, birds, etc., feel uncomfortable and tends to stay
inside as much as they could.

Although this season may be annoying, it is good for the crops as they ripen only in the
summer season.

Monsoon 
It includes the months of July and August.

It is sometimes called 'green season' by the officials of the tourism sector.

The earth is carpeted with greenery, birds sing melodiously and level of water rises in
the rivers, ponds and canals in this season. The sky is filled with black clouds before it
rains and rainbow can be seen in the sky after the rain stops. 

Autumn 
The season of autumn comes in the months of September and October. 

The hot and humid weather starts disappearing and leaves start falling off the trees in
this season, so it is also known as the fall season.

The sky becomes clearer as compared to the monsoon season and clear moon can be
seen in the sky along with countless starts that look like pearls scattered in the sky. 

Unesco

A site or place that is recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and
Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a site of physical or cultural importance is
known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. UNESCO is a specialized agency of the
United Nations (UN) that aims to promote peace and security in the world by
performing important roles in different fields, such as education, science, culture, etc.

National Bird:
The national bird of India is peacock. Its scientific name is Pavo cristatus. It was
adopted as a national bird in the year of 1963. This colourful bird is characterized by a
fan-shaped crest made of upright feathers present on the top of its head and white
patches around the eyes and beautiful feathers, and long, slender neck.

Peacock is considered a symbol of beauty and grace. It is a part of the culture and
customs of India and is found throughout the country. The male peacock is more
graceful and colourful than female peacocks.

National Fruit:
Mango is regarded as the national fruit of India. Except for hilly areas, it is cultivated
throughout the country, however, it is available in the summer season.

In India, over 100 species of mango are grown that differ from each other in terms of
shape, size, and colour. The scientific name of mango is Mangifera indica. It became
the national fruit of India in 1950 as it is found to have all fundamental features to
become national fruit of the country.

It has been described as the 'food of the god' in the sacred Hindu Vedas and is
mentioned in the cultural and religious heritage of the country. The sweet fragrance and
different flavours of this fruit are highly cherished all over the world. The fruit is also
very nutritious as it is a rich source of vitamin A, C and D

National Flower:
Lotus flower (scientific name: Nelumbo nucifere) is regarded as the national flower in
India. It is an aquatic herb which is called 'Padma' in Sanskrit. It is a sacred flower for
Indians and is an integral part of the Indian culture since ancient times. Lotus is the
flower of goddess Laxmi. It grows in shallow muddy water.

Lotus represents the core values of Indian culture and heritage that includes
spirituality, knowledge, wealth, purity of heart and mind, and more. The interesting fact
about lotus is that although it grows in muddy water it remains above the level of the
water, untouched by the muddy water.
