1) What type of literacy program do you implement in your classroom? Support your
answer.

The literacy program for me that I have recognize that is effective for enhancing the
literacy skills of the students specifically in English subject is making the students
experience a certain situation in order to put their learnings in their long term memory
like for example the role playing, in this the teacher will group the students and they will
be given a story that they will read it aloud and find words that is not familiar and they
will give meaning to it they also need to understand the flow of the story and after
reading and understanding they need to share it to the class the teacher will call the
representative of each group to share what they have learned and after that each group
will be doing the role playing. So by means of this the students will practice reading and
comprehension and they will be familiar with some words that are not familiar to them
and they will understand the message behind the story.

2) What are the components of your program? What do you like or dislike about your
literacy program?
The components of our program are the Phonic Awareness- where teaching this allows
for greater printed word recognition and it teaches students to identify, understand and
manipulate sounds in spoken words, Phonics Instruction- this teaches students that
specific sounds belong to specific letters and letter patterns , Vocabulary- which increases
comprehension , Fluency- this is for the student’s ability to read , speak and write
effortlessly and correctly., Comprehension- this is for the student’s understanding of
what they have read and last component Writing. Those are the components that help the
student’s capacity to become literate not just in reading and writing but also in other
components. What I like about our program is that it is very enjoyable, I get to know
more about my classmate or have a bonding to them and what and what I don’t like about
the program is that there are some groupmates that does not cooperate and sometimes if
you are the leader they think it’s all your responsibility to do the task but there also
leaders that they don’t listen to their members and also this type of literacy program
needs financial assistance because you need to make props and costumes.
