1. Analyze and evaluate the government’s response towards COVID 19 and
their response to the victims of the typhoon Ulysses. Is it poor, fair, or excellent? Defend your answer. (20 pts) I have been thinking for too long and I realized that the Philippine Government’s response to COVID 19 to me, is excellent. From the start of this pandemic up to this time, I have seen how the government mobilized all agencies that manifested quick response to the call for preventive measures. There was the organized IATF that was composed of health workers, police and military officers including LGU, barangay units and other mandated officers from other departments. All of these wok in unison to encourage the citizens to observe safety protocols like wearing of face mask, face shield, having social distancing avoidance of social gathering and many others. I have seen the spirit of bayanihan in communities. Community pantries are getting popular. I see this as a support to the government too.
2. Recently, there is a growing and ongoing conflict between the Philippine
president’s and vice president’s supporters due to the way they respond to the victims of typhoon Ulysses in Cagayan Valley. Seemingly, it is caused by keyboard warriors as they post their own views regarding this situation. As a concern citizen, how are you going to be a channel of solidarity amidst the growing conflict on politics in this present social condition? (25 pts) As to the government response to the victims of typhoon Ulysses, I consider the action excellent. Being a witness of the flood in Isabela and Cagayan, the government mobilized the NDRRM, police officer and all concerned agencies. In giving reliefs, I am one among many donors who contributed for the victims. Contrary to the government had done, there are many negative issues that the media releases. The opposing parties need media to destroy the government scheme to aid typhoon victims. The president is doing his best as responsible leader. I have seen the goodness and unity of the government to give assistance to the victims no matter what the media brings out.
