Reflection on the Pakigsandurot: A Regional Summit sa Bagong Kadawyan

The Philippine Normal University-Mindanao kicked off the online webinar summit on the
whole day of May 19, 2021. It has a title, PAKIGSANDUROT: A Regional Summit sa Bagong
Kadawyan. I witnessed the introductory part where the presentations were fully prepared and it
makes the delegates, or the HEI students from all across Mindanao engaged into the program.
The flow was almost perfect to the point like you can forget that it was a zoom cloud meeting.
The first speaker of the summit was Ms. Jofabelle Mae L. Jalalon, an alumna of PNU,
who gave us tips and advices and life and in studies. She even encourages us to read more
often because the mind will benefit from it, and the knowledge of the world broadens even more.
She outlines the 10-100 things to accomplish; it empowers and broadens our thoughts and
viewpoint in interacting with the community despite the threat of a pandemic Be hopeful and
seize chances as they present themselves. We must find ways to entertain ourselves in order to
alleviate our boredom, especially since we are still at home.
Mr. Kerwin D. Membrano was the following speaker, and he provided his vast expertise
on how to be successful in our chosen profession. He discussed a variety of topics, including
various factors that are critical in determining a person's life path. I was astounded by the way
he explained something, especially something vital, and brought it into our life as students to
help us develop higher order thinking skills. He also discussed and urged us that we must
remain positive in our daily lives, not just in the face of the illness. Because, as students, we
must not only ensure that we have completed all of our tasks, but also that we are still in a good
mood and mentally stable in the midst of multiple lockdowns caused by the pandemic.
All in all, the webinar I attended was not just about raising awareness about pandemic,
but it also provided facts. This webinar assists me in battling continuously as a student and
individual in the community against our hidden opponent. It also encouraged me to complete the
assigned module and attend online classes. I understand that it is difficult for us to cope with
this scenario due to a series of adjustments and involvement, but as long as we are alive, we
must continue to do our bit as students and individuals in the community.
