SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT SPOKEN COMMUNICATION IS MORE POWERFUL THAN WRITTEN

COMMUNICATION.TO WHAT EXTENT DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?

The question of whether oral communication or written one would be dominant remains
controversial. While many people believe that the verbal communication is more effective than the
latter one, I completely disagree with this viewpoint. Personally, I think the written one has a more
tremendous impact on our daily lives.

First and foremost, written communication is much more cost-effective and time-saving. Without
making entrance into the meeting, the colleagues can exchange their view and work cooperatively via
the online document editor. Moreover, the budget spent on either transportation or conference
arrangement can be reduced. For example, during the outbreak of Covid-19, the sizeable majority of
people had to work from home and decidedly received the information from their company through
online. With a few clicks of a mouse, they tend to send the elaborate documents to each other at such
short notice with a view to completing the tasks speedily.

Secondly, written document is also considered to be the permanently indispensable record. In terms of
law, the valid evidence is utterly the top priority and need to be preserved for a long
time.Furthermore, top executive can obviously present their informative proof and arguments in an
understandable way thanks to the written documents. Moreover, in business, this means of
communication can help to devise a coherently long-term strategy for the companies and get in touch
with the customers in an accessible way.

Admittedly, many people hold the view that oral communication is better than written one in some
circumstances. For instance, in a dating , performance or presentation, the verbal one helps us to show
our truthful feelings and deep respect for the partner. However, I firmly believe that the written
communcation is more worthwhile than the spoken one.

In conclusion, it seems to me that written communication is more influential than oral one due to the
low cost, effective time management and eternally important conservation.
