3.1.3 Requirements for putting boards on the each cradle beams of scaffold
Put more than two boards onto the each cradle beam and make up a platform.
The platform whole width exceeds 400mm and it can support 2500 N/m2. Each
end of the boards is out of crossbar to 100~200mm. The ends are fixed to
crossbar with Φ1.2mm galvanized iron wire. Two adjacent boards are crossed.
3.1.4 Lighting for installation and using electricity safely
(1)The safety lighting voltage shall be below to 36V. The protection means
against overload and shot-circuit should be set.
(2)Power supply, for each hoistway, is individual. The power switch is set nearly
entrance of ground floor.
(3)The hoistway shall be bright enough. Lamps are installed at 2~2.5m intervals in
the middle of scaffold. The socket outlets required for lanterns shall be at
suitable position according to requirement.
Notes: If lifting height increase, the thickness and width of boards should increase,
or other materials are used to construct scaffold after consulting with
installation department.
(1) For the counterweight is behind the car, the jig is constructed as Fig.3-4
(2) For the counterweight is near the car, the jig is constructed as Fig.3-5

(4) Jig installation method. Dig four square holes at same level on hoistway wall,
where is on the top of well and below the machine room floor about 1m. The
four holes are 150×150mm square and 200mm depth. Choose 100×100mm
square board as template bracket. Plug brackets into holes and level them.
Then fix brackets on location and put jig on brackets. Adjust jig levelness error
is less than 5mm (see Fig. 3-7)

(5) Hang plumb line: Lay Φ0.7~0.9mm steel wire in wiring positions. An end of
steel wire is fixed to corresponding nail on jig. Another end drop into pit with,
binding a 10~15kg spindle to strain line.
(6) Confirm that jig is in place, then locate and fix jig to brackets.
Standard plumb line location: To prevent plumb line swaying after adjustment,
bottom jig can be set in pit. Plumb lines are located by chock at 800~1000mm up the
bottom of well, and then fixed to bottom jig with U type nails when plumb lines are
stock-still (see Fig. 3-8).

4.3 Fix rail brackets
4.3.1 Car and counterweight rail brackets
There are several methods to install and place rail bracket as see in Fig. 4-1.
Each rail shall be with two rail brackets. The distance between rail brackets

4.3.2 Rail brackets installation
4.3.2.1 A plumb line on the jig is used as rail brackets installation baseline. Above all,
two brackets are respectively installed at the top and bottom of hoistway in
entire well height. Level the installed rail brackets with baseline on jig, and fix
them. Two steel wires, connected brackets clip holes, are served as baseline
to install else mid rail brackets.
4.3.2.2 There is pad between the rail bracket and rail back side. The thickness of the
pad is standardized as 6mm. If the gap between the rail bracket and rail back
is not equal to 6mm, adjust bracket support surface to ensure that rail bracket
contacts with rail tightly (see Fig. 4-2a) .
4.3.2.3 Adjust the rail bracket to make sure that the levelness is no more than 5mm
and vertical error no more than 0.3mm (see Fig. 4-2b)

When installing T-section rail, the followings should be note:
(1)There are no such defects as impacted mark, burr and obvious bend on the
guide rail working surface (both flanks and top side). Each guide rail shall
be straightened before install.
(2)Guide shoe shall not go out of guide rail when elevator is runaway.
4.5 Rail and gauge adjustment
Rails adjustment includes rail verticality, parallelity and gauge adjustment. The
rails installation dimensions are recorded in accord with rules when installing rails.
(1)Fix rail template cramp
After rails are fixed initially, a rail template cramp is installed on the top of car or
counterweight rail, seen Fig. 4-4. Drop down a plumb line from cramp to pit
vertically, and the line is the baseline of rail verticality.

(2)Initial rail adjustment
While rail verticality baseline is defined, by means of rail gauge, measure the

(3)Rail gauge and parallelity adjustment
A plumb line is respectively dropped down from the center of the car and
counterweight on the top jig to the pit jig. Special Rail gauge is used to regulate
rail gauge and rail parallelity. See Fig.4-6.
By means of rail gauge, measure rail gauge and parallelity at each joint of both
rails between bracket and fish plate from bottom to top. Keep record at the same
time. Deflection of the car guide rail gauge is + 02 mm. Deflection of the
counterweight guide rail gauge is + 30 mm. Deflection of two rails working surfaces:
the car guide rail deflection is ±0.3mm, and T section counterweight rail deflection
is ±0.5mm without catch block.

4.6 Quality requirements for rail installation
(1) Each rail working surface (including both flanks and top side) deviation from
install baseline shall not exceed following value every 5m: 0.6mm for car guide rail

5.2.4.1 Installation procedure:
Choose installation mode firstly. Locate rope gripper on position assigned and
fix it slightly.
(1)Detach dish spring seat unit from rope gripper.
(2)Install and adjust rope gripper. Put wedge baffle in the lower cut of holding
hook, adjust rope gripper position and angle to make friction plate parallel to
rope plane and touch rope, then fix it.
(3)Install the dish spring seat unit.

5.4 Installation of control cabinet and power control box
5.4.1 Install and fasten control cabinet at suitable place in machine room according to
layout drawing.
Agree to: (1) Distance between control cabinet face, door and windows are no
less than 600mm.
(2)Distance between the maintenance side of cabinet and wall is no
less than 600mm
(3)Distance between cabinet and mechanical equipments are no less
than 500mm.
5.4.2 Incoming and outlet trunkings of control cabinet shall be laid straightly, orderly
and securely.
5.4.3 Power box shall be set at machine room entrance. It shall be accessible easily
and rapidly. The box shall be above machine room floor 1.3m. If the machine
room has several lifts, each power box shall be labeled to be identified easily.
5.4.4 Null line and ground line shall be separated entirely. Ground line is two-tone
yellow green, and it is selected according to specification. Reliable earthed is
required, and the ground lines shall be connected to ground pole directly and

6.1.1 Installation of the landing door sill
Because landing construction is different in well, there are two installation modes
of sill, which one is with protrusion and another is without protrusion.

6.1.2 Installation of landing door jamb and header (at the same time reference ‘Centre
opening door system installation manual and maintenance manual
(TKP131-06/07 Type)’
6.1.2.1 Installation of landing door jamb: Join the cradle beam of jamb to frame upright.
The jamb and landing door sill are connected with bolts. Fix jamb connecting
piece to well wall with steel expansion M8 blots.
6.1.2.2 Position requirement
When installing Jamb upper frame, the error of levelness is no more than
1/1000mm.
When installing Jamb upright, the error of perpendicularity is no more than

6.1.2.3 Installation of landing header: According to plum lines dropping from jig,
landing entrance centre, door rail position, header fore-and-aft incline and
installation height from sill are determined. Fix landing header with M12
expansive bolts.
6.1.2.4 Position requirement
(1)The allowance of landing entrance centre
The errors of header centre and entrance centre shall be within 0±2, but the
errors shall be within 0±1 to L2 closer.
(2)The allowance of fore-and-aft incline |a-b|.
The error between the top and bottom of header shall be within 1mm. See Fig.
6-6.

6.1.3 Installation of landing door
6.1.3.1 Installation requirement
Clearance shall be set behind doors to make sure that doors do not collide
with rubber block when various landing doors open. Refer to relative chapter
to set doors position when landing door full open.

After all landing doors are locked, adjust locking elements to ensure that locking
elements are engaged by at least 7 mm, and space between interlock roller and
door cam is proper.
After installing landing door, the well wall facing the landing door shall be render
to ensure no hindrance to landing door opening and closing.

7.2.3 Put plank, assembled with safety gear, on supporting beam in the top floor of
well. The top and bottom sides of plank shall be adjust to ensure their levelness
is no more than 1/1000. The space between two ends of rail top side and safety
gear set are equal, and the space between two ends of rail flank and safety
gear set are equal too. Fix plank firmly to prevent loosing. Join and slightly fix
bilateral upright to plank. Before installing cross head, the verticality error shall
not exceed 1.5mm.
7.2.4 Bolt cross head, hanged by chain block, to two uprights. Calibrate the verticality
of uprights, and torque shall not be acted on it. Measure and ensure that
diagonal error is less than 2mm, then bolt car frame firmly. The verticality error
in whole height of upright is no more than 1.5mm. See Fig. 7-3 (car frame
assembling drawing).

7.3 Installation of car
7.3.1 Put car cradle and platform on plank, and bolt slightly. Adjust their position and
ensure that the levelness error of platform plane shall be not more than
2/1000mm. Connect platform to upright and car cradle firmly by brace rods.
7.3.2 After adjusting car platform position dimension and levelness, screw all bolts and
ensure no loose. Assemble two guide shoes on cross head and another two on
safety gear set or plank, and the guide shoes shall fit rail well. The four guide
shoes shall be in the same vertical plane.
7.3.3 Assemble car enclosures. Assemble car enclosures sequentially in accord with
layout drawing (see Fig. 7-4). The enclosures are bolted to each other, and
enclosures assembly is bolted to platform. Otherwise put single enclosure
together as several pieces at landing door firstly, bolt car enclosures and
platform inside well.

7.3.4 Assemble car roof. Join integrated roof assembly or roof to enclosures.
7.3.5 After car enclosures and roof assembling, the vertical error of car wall in whole
height shall be no more than 1.5mm. The flatness error between enclosures is
no more than 0.5mm. The diagonal error of car wall is no more than 2mm.
Screw all bolts after adjusting.
When car rope is connected, demount hoisting rope and chain block, and
remove the woods under plank.
Counterweight connects with the car by hauling hope through traction sheave. It is an balance
device while running. Pit protection device locates at the pit between the car and the counterweight,
(1) For lift counterweight, install a chain block at the center of two counterweight guide rails above

between counterweight and ground to fix counterweight. Install two upper and lower guide

motion components of different elevators (car or counterweight) in the bottom of the hoistway.
The barriers height is from the lowest point of the car or counterweight extruding to 2.5m above

9.1.1 When loading and unloading rope, rope external damage, impressing and distortion shall

Rope length relates to the lift structure and traction ratio. When the traction ratio is 1:1, an end
of rope fixed to rope hitch plate on the car upright. The other end is fixed to the rope hitch plate on
the counterweight. When traction ratio is 2:1, rope is fixed on the machine supporting beam
Rope length (L) is measured when the car is at leveling position on the top floor and
counterweight locates at the bottom floor apart buffer at permission overtravel. Traction ratio (are
there guiding pulley, secondary sheave and suspension sheave) and redundancy of rope shackle
shall be taken into consideration. The measurement should also be realized by using the thick wire
with the above method (The tensile strain of rope shall be considered if floor is too height.
9.3.2.1 Before truncating rope, tie up it with No.16 thick lead at both side of cut. Then truncate it.
9.3.2.2 Process as Fig.9-4 shown. After putting rope into rope fastening, 300mm rope should be
left.

9.3.2.3 Fix the 300mm rope with 3 retainer clips. Retainer clips should buckle the joint on the rope
working part as the Fig. 9-4, and U-type bolts should buckle on the end of rope. Retainer clips can’t
be arranged alternately.
When car locates at the intermediate landing, exert striking vibration on the rope 1m above the
car. Measuring the time when the vibration wave reciprocates five times. The error shall be limited

9.4 After connecting with car, counterweight or machine supporting beam, the rope hitch should
have secondary protection, see Fig.9-7. One rope crosses through cone space or hole of
the rope hitch. Fix both ends of the rope with clips firmly.

9.5 Load cell on the end of rope hitch (selecting for requirement):
Load cell consists of load measuring sensor and controller. Load measuring sensor is
installed at side of car suspension rope hitch in the machine room. The assembling position is in
the middle of the two rope hitch plates. The controller is on the machine supporting beams or other
suitable position. See Fig.9-8.

11.2 Process flow for buffer installation
11.2.1 The quantity and dimension of buffer should accord with construction layout drawing.
According to the dimension S1 of the leveling position at the ground floor and the height of
the buffer, set the buffer installation set as Fig.11-2. Make use of preformed steel bar to concrete
buffer set. At the same time, embed the anchor bolt for buffer installation, as Fig.11-3.

11.2.2 Install the buffer. Use gradienter and plumb line to adjust the buffer.
11.2.3 Fill oil into hydraulic buffer: Use screwdriver to take off the plunger cover and open the oil
level indicator to deflate the air. Fill N68 machine oil above the level marked on the oil level
indicator.
11.2.4 Requirement for buffer installation:
(1) Buffer move down at uniform speed while it is compressed. Check the buffer stroke, reset of
plunger and function of button. The button must be reset manually. Then the elevator can run.
(2) The center error between the car, counterweight and buffer shall not be bigger than 20mm.
(3) Upper and lower verticality deviation of the hydraulic buffer plunger shall not excess to 土
0.5%.
(4) Top height error between two buffers on the same base shall not be larger than 1mm.
(5) Overrun between car plank and buffer is S1. Overrun between counterweight buffer plate and
buffer is S2 (as Fig.11-2). They shall accord with Table11-1.
(6) When installing the spring buffer, the top horizontality shall not exceed to 4/1000.
Leveling device is a device which makes car leveling accurately and opening
door at leveling zone. Ultimate limit device can shut off main power and control power
before car or counterweight touches the buffer when car overtakes terminal stopping
device.
12.1Installation of leveling device
Leveling device consists of car switch bracket and well leveling bracket,
See Fig.12-1. Install and adjust as following sequence.

12.3 Install final limit switch, limit switch, slow down switch and limit switch cam shall
accord with following rules:
12.3.1 Limit switch cam should not be distorted. Switch roller must be sensitive.
12.3.2 Cam should be installed vertically. Vertical tolerance is 1‰. The tolerance shall
not be more than 1.5mm at whole length.
12.3.3 Switch, cam must be installed firmly. Between operating region of the switch,
roller and impact bow shall be touch reliably. The distance between the edge of

roller and bow should not be less than 5mm.
12.3.4 When roller touches cam, switch connection must be disconnected reliably.
Roller can move along impact bow freely, and there should be little
compression residue of roller.
12.3.5 Installation position of forced slow down switch should be installed according to
the design requirement.
12.3.6 Limit device is used to prevent car from overrunning at the terminal landing (see
fig.12-2).When car run to the top or bottom of well, normal speed reducing
distance is 1.5m far away from the leveling. At the same time, impact bow of car
touches forced switch, which makes the control system to decelerate for
leveling. If impact bow touches limit switch to shut off sequential running loop of
the control system, the car is forced to stop. If the lift car overrun for
100~150mm in terminal landing, impact bow touch limit switch to shut off
sequential running loop of the control system. Car is forced to stop, and
ultimate limit switch keep working.
If passengers come in or out when car door is closing, infrared light screen can
stop closing door and open inversely. This will protect passenger or property. There is
infrared emitter and receiver fixed at two side of car door. Also there is power supply
box fixed on car roof and special flexible cable. The multi-beam light screen consists
of four parts mentioned above. It monitors and drives the door of car non-contact.
Infrared ray, emitted from emitter and receiver, scans from top to bottom. An infrared
protection light screen is formed in door zone. When any ray is blocked off, the car
door stop closing, and open inversely.

13.2 Main points of adjustment
(1)The light is infrared ray and it can’t be seen by human eyes. Therefore
adjustment must be performed according to the display light of controller.
(2)Correct display is as follows table

(3)If display is wrong, set light screen controller at check state. Check out the
reason. Adjust every connection parts to make it work normally. If display is
right as the table, fix them.
Chapter 14 Adjustment
Before adjusting, clean up lift well and machine room at first. Then check the
safety measures and overall function of lift. Adjust safety, riding comfort and reliability
of lift
14.1 Preparation before adjustment
After installing lift, well, landing entrance and the machine room shall be cleaned
up.
(1) The holes, through which rope and wire cross from machine room to well, and
other required holes are plastered with cement mortar. Construct a step around the
hole and step is 50 millimeter height. The space between the rope and inside

surface of the hole, through which the rope passes, shall be 20~40 millimeter.
Protection safety measure is set for vent.
(2)Check traction machine, guide rail, hydraulic buffer and overspeed governor. Fill
oil in accord with regulation to ensure device is lubricated.
14.2 Check safety device.
(1) Protection device for phase loss and phase failure of power system must be
normal.
(2) Overspeed governor safety mechanism switch is normal. Overspeed governor
safety electric switch is normal. Broken rope contact or slack rope safety is normal.
(a) Elevator ascends with no-load in the top range area or descends with 125%
of the rated load in the bottom range area. Stop landing more than three times.
Car should be braked to stop (ignore leveling requirement when descending).
When descending at normal speed with 125% rated load, cut off motor power
and brake. Car shall be braked reliably.
(b) It shall not be possible to raise the empty car when the counterweight is
resting on the buffers.
(c) If load can not be limited within rated load by the area of car, the car shall be

(b) Overloading test
Cut off over loading control circuit. Car operates within full journey at 40% power
on time with 110% of rated load. Start and brake elevator 30 times. Elevator
shall start, run and stop (ignoring leveling) reliably. Traction machine work
normally.
(c) When elevator operation, every operating function work normally. Every
operating button is accurately. Lift traveling direction is correct and display are
all right.
After testing, every landing shall be signed on traction rope and machine room
wall. Set permanence illuminating device in well and machine room, and make sure
there are bright enough. Check the alarm device in well, car, machine room and watch
room to ensure they are secure. Check device of Ventilation, fireproofing and guard
against theft.
