EXHIBIT YOUR UNDERSTANDING (MAKING A POSITION PAPER)

The question wherein what's the best solution to Manila's traffic problem is it to construct
more roads or to have proper traffic management has drove into the minds of our Filipino
Drivers. Filipinos are still struggling on how to cope with this problem and this causes them a lot
of stress. In recent times, the traffic demand in Metro Manila is around 12.8 million trips. While
69% of that amount is made using our available public transportation like jeepneys, buses, the
LRT and the MRT, a significantly lesser portion is done through driving or riding private vehicles
and yet this mode of transport, the private mode, takes up 78% of road space. Now, how can
the government solve this issue? I intend that constructing more roads like fly overs can reduce
traffic congestion in Manila.

Flyovers help to streamline the traffic control system by helping to reduce traffic congestion.
Reduced horizontal curvature reduces risk of off-road crashes. The impact of the flyover
construction to curb traffic congestion problem has been assessed in terms of traffic
decongestion, time saving and fuel saving.

Building more roads is one key to improve congestion. When new space is opened vehicles will
no longer share in one lane because there are new roads which they can pass through and this
could make a big step for us because it can lessen the stress we’re experiencing from traffic
everytime. This advantages can assurely help our country to solve this traffic congestion that
we're experience for how many years.

EXHIBIT YOUR UNDERSTANDING "THE STONING OF SORAYA M."

REACTION PAPER

The movie of Cyrus Nowrasteh entitled “The Stoning of Soraya M " has made me
and my family cry. The brutality of The Stoning moved me to tears. The story is
about a desperate woman asks for a meeting with a journalist to disclose the
cruel and inhumane punishment of her niece. After watching the injustice and
betrayal that Soraya, the lead character, suffered in this film I can no longer be
silent about the injustice going on in this world today. The human rights violations
happening in our world stabs at the heart of human dignity. The story starts off
slowly and builds to a brutal and bloody ending that I did not expect. It sheds light
on how one man's selfishness can incite a mob mentality against an innocent
woman. The lack of compassion in the villagers is astounding, but the silence of
justice is deafening. See this film as soon as you can! It is informative, life-
changing and it makes you reevaluate what side of good and evil you really stand
on. Choosing to not speak out is the same as condoning the crime.

To think that women are still going through this today creates a sense of
obligation to see this movie. I can't stop thinking about all the women who
encounter this type of injustice around the globe. This film is a testament to the
hundreds of thousands of voiceless women around the work.
