GENERAL RUN-UP TESTS


Operations of following aircraft are not permitted: Engine test runs shall only take place during the following hours: MON-FRI 0800-
- Jets without noise certification or not complying with the terms of ICAO Annex 16, 2200LT, SAT, SUN and public holidays 1000-1800LT. Engine test runs are restricted on

Runway 24: Landings are not permitted unless crosswind component on other
runways exceeds 15 KT and/or when braking action is hazardous
for landings on other runways. Exceptions are only permitted in
emergency and when braking action on runways
01/19 and 13/31 are below minimum for landings and/or
take-offs.
Runway 01: Single engined aircraft shall plan their approach so as to pass
Karsnes peninsula at 500' or above.

DEPARTURES
Runway 06: Take-off not permitted. Exceptions are only permitted in
emergency and when braking action on runways 01/19 and 13/31
are below minimum for landings and/or take-offs.
Runway 01: All aircraft shall plan to reach the highest possible altitude over
DER, using normal take-off procedures. Aircraft in LEFT hand
circuit shall fly normal circuit. Traffic planning to make a RIGHT
hand turn after take-off shall continue climbing on runway
heading to 1000’ or until passing Reykjavik harbour (fuel tanks in
Oerfirisey) before proceeding on course. Single engined aircraft
shall plan their take-off so as to have reached at least 400' when
passing DER.
Runway 31: If a RIGHT turn is planned after take-off, maintain runway
heading to 800' before initiating the turn.

NIGHTTIME RESTRICTIONS
Take-off is not permitted MON-FRI 2300-0700 LT, SAT, SUN and public holidays 2300-
0800 LT exept for ambulance, humanitarian and SAR flights as well as flights due to
national security and other state affairs. ISAVIA will grant exemptions from the
opening hours if deemed necessary.
Runways 06/24:
Flights during darkness, i.e. when the sun is 6^ below the horizon, the use of runway is
only permitted for scheduled and non-scheduled flights as well as for aircraft owned or
operated by the Icelandic State taking into account above restrictions.
