D. Do the relief valve test before the installation of the coalescer as follow:
(1) Slowly push on the poppet relief valve rod.
(a) Make sure poppet valve is free to open.
(2) Release poppet relief valve rod.
(a) Make sure relief valve rod does not stick.
(b) If valve requires too much force to open or sticks, replace water separator
(Ref. TASK 21−51−13−000−801) .
(3) Gain access to the water separator drain hose.
(a) Make sure that the drain tube is not blocked.
(4) Loosen hose clamp.
(5) Remove the drain tube from the water separator.
(6) Using Low pressure shop air, place rubber tipped air gun nozzle on drain tube and
slowly blow air, (maximum 25 PSI).
(a) Make sure drain path is not blocked. If drain is blocked, replace water
separator (Ref. TASK 21−51−13−000−801).
(7) Install the drain hose on the water separator.
(a) Check the drain hose for proper condition,
1 No cuts and no kinks.
(8) Tighten the hose clamp to 15 to 20 inch pounds.
(9) Ensure the screen is properly secured.
Subtask 21−51−13−430−002
E. Assemble the water separator as follows:
(1) Put the coalescer (4) in position on the screen (5).
(2) Make sure the elastic band edges are firmly in place and the nap side of the
coalescer is on the inside.

TASK 21−51−13−100−802
Cleaning of the ACM Water Separator, Overboard Drain−Line Restrictor and Drain line
1. General
A. The procedure that follows is for the cleaning of the ACM water separator, the overboard
drain−line restrictor (written as the "restrictor" in this procedure) and the drain line. One
drain−line is installed for each of the two ACM water separators. They are installed in the
aft−equipment compartment at FS718.00.
B. The procedure for the left restrictor is given. The procedure for the right restrictor is the
same.
3. Job Set−up
Subtask 21−51−13−020−004
A. Remove the restrictor (Ref. TASK 21−51−13−000−802).
B. Obey all of the cleaning safety precautions (Ref. TASK 51−26−00−910−801).

A. Clean the restrictor as follows:
(1) Do an inspection of the restrictor orifice.
(2) Make sure that the hole is clean, unobstructed and diameter is 0.066 in. (1.68 mm).
CAUTION: DO NOT INSERT A SHARP OBJECT INTO A CALIBRATED ORIFICE. A
SHARP OBJECT CAN SCORE THE SURFACE. IF YOU DO THIS, YOU
CAN DAMAGE THE ORIFICE.
(3) Clean the restrictor orifice with the shaft of a 0.060 in. (1.52 mm) drill bit, or another
small dull object.

C. Clean the drain line as follows:
(1) Remove the grease from the drain line with clean aliphatic naphtha solvent.
(2) Use a soft nylon brush to clean the openings and the inner surface of the drain line.
(3) If you cannot move easily the brush in the drain, do the steps that follow:
(a) Fill the drain line with the aliphatic naphtha solvent and close the two ends of
the drain line.
NOTE: Do not fill the drain line fully with the aliphatic naphtha solvent.
(b) Lightly shake the drain line to make sure that the aliphatic naphtha solvent
flows fully through the drain line.
(c) Drain the aliphatic naphtha solvent from the drain line.
