Procedure:

THE DOCUMENT REFERENCE IS AVAILABLE ONLINE. PLEASE CHECK IF THE ONLINE DOCUMENTATION CORRESPONDS TO THE PRINTED VERSION
E.1. De-energize helicopter electrical system AMM 24-00-00,2-1 .

E.2. Remove the aft LH engine cowling AMM 71-11-00,4-3 .

E.3. Remove the aft LH firewall with the ejector AMM 71-32-00,4-3 .

E.4. Remove the heat protection cover from the condenser module AMM 21-51-00,4-8 .

NOTE
It is only necessary to remove the condenser module fan if it is no longer possible to remove the contamination with
compressed air.

E.5. If necessary, remove the condenser module fan AMM 21-51-00,4-9 .

E.6. Clean the condenser module fan:

a. Purge slight contamination such as dust with oil-free compressed air (max. 7 bar) which is free from water.

CAUTION
WATER CAUSES DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS! PREVENT THE CONDENSER MODULE
FAN OR ITS ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FROM GETTING IN CONTACT WITH WATER!

b. Remove heavy and/or adherent contamination from the housing of the condenser module using a suitable,
moistened cloth or a soft brush. Prevent the electrical connections from getting moist or from getting in contact
with water.

E.7. Clean the heat exchanger:

CAUTION
THE LAMELLAS OF THE HEAT EXCHANGER CAN EASILY BE DAMAGED! CAREFULLY HANDLE THE
HEAT EXCHANGER.

a. Purge slight contamination such as dust from the rear side of the heat exchanger with oil-free compressed air
which is free from water. In doing so prevent the heat exchanger lamellas from being damaged.

CAUTION
WATER CAUSES DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. PROTECT THE ELECTRICAL
CONNECTIONS AGAINST MOISTURE AND WATER USING SUITABLE MEANS BEFORE SUDS IS
SPRAYED ONTO THE HEAT EXCHANGER!

b. Remove heavy and/or adherent contamination:

(1) Make suds by mixing washing-up liquid commercial and clean water (faucet water in drinking water
quality).

THE DOCUMENT REFERENCE IS AVAILABLE ONLINE. PLEASE CHECK IF THE ONLINE DOCUMENTATION CORRESPONDS TO THE PRINTED VERSION
(2) Spray suds onto the contaminated places by means of a spray bottle.

(3) remove contamination by means of a soft brush.

(4) Thoroughly purge suds using clean water (faucet water in drinking water quality). In doing so ensure
that no water can penetrate in the electrical components.

(5) Purge remaining water by means of oil-free and water-free compressed air.

E.8. If previously removed, install the condenser module fan AMM 21-51-00,4-9 .

E.9. Install the heat protection cover to the condenser module AMM 21-51-00,4-8 .

E.10. Install the aft LH firewall together with the ejector AMM 71-32-00,4-3 .

E.11. Install LH aft engine cowling AMM 71-11-00,4-3 .
