A. Open the access door that follows:

**ON A/C 7160−7990, 8000−8400
B. Open the access door that follows:

ACCESS DESIGNATION
311BB Aft equipment−compartment door
**ON A/C ALL
4. Procedure
Refer to Figure 1 or 2, as applicable.
A. On aircraft with engine oil detection panels that have magnetic
latch indicators, do the visual check of the engine oil−bypass
indicator as follows:
(1) Make sure that the magnetic latch indicators that follow
are black:
− OIL FILTER LH and RH
(2) If the LH OIL FILTER is black, do the steps that follow:
(a) Push the TEST LH button and make sure that the OIL
FILTER LH indicators change from all black to black
and white.

AIRCRAFT EFFECTIVITY: Mechanic Inspector

(b) Push the RESET button and make sure that the OIL
FILTER LH indicators change from black and white to
all black.
(3) If the RH OIL FILTER is black, do the steps that follow:
(a) Push the TEST RH button and make sure that the OIL
FILTER RH indicators change from all black to black
and white.
(b) Push the RESET button and make sure that the OIL
FILTER RH indicators change from black and white to
all black.
(4) If any indicator is black and white, do as follow to the
applicable engine:
(a) Do the inspection of engines for metal contamination
of the oil system, as shown by debris on the master
magnetic chip−detector or on the oil filter, refer to
Subtask 72−00−00−210−008 as found in the special
inspection of the engine (Ref. TASK
72−00−00−200−801).
B. On aircraft with engine oil detection panels that has light
emitting diode (LED) indicators, do the visual check of the
engine oil−bypass indicator as follows:
(1) Make sure that the light emitting diode (LED) indicators
that follow are off:
− OIL FILTER LH and RH
− TEST OK
(2) If the LH or RH OIL FILTER (LED) indicator is off, do the
steps that follow:
(a) Push the TEST switch for two seconds, then release.
(b) Make sure that the LED indicators that follow come
on:
− OIL FILTER LH and RH
− TEST OK
(c) Push the RESET switch for two seconds, then
release.

AIRCRAFT EFFECTIVITY: Mechanic Inspector

(d) Make sure that all the LED indicators go off.

(3) If the LH or RH OIL FILTER (LED) indicator is on, do the
steps that follow:
(a) Push the RESET switch, then release.
(b) Make sure that the LH or RH OIL FILTER (LED)
indicator goes off.
(4) If any LED indicator is on, do as follow to the applicable
engine:
(a) Do the inspection of engines for metal contamination
of the oil system, as shown by debris on the master
magnetic chip−detector or on the oil filter (Ref.
Subtask 72−00−00−210−008) as found in the
special inspection of the engine (Ref. TASK
72−00−00−200−801).
5. Close Out
A. Remove all tools, equipment, and unwanted materials from the
work area.

B. Close the access door that follows:
