Task 2
Chaulagain prakash
Vivek murthy pointed out loneliness is a raging health crisis rather than just a personal sadness.
According to Murthy, lack of social connection contributed to loneliness is one of the major health
related issue of an individual so far. Individual behavior is responsible for epidemic of loneliness
which has been growing problem globally. It has a huge negative impact on our health, well-being
and productivity. Work could be a place where we find most of the connection, but too often it might
not. We as an individual working remotely in our own offices, neither interacting in a meaningful
way. If social distancing continues in the future, struggles with loneliness could get even worse.
Besides, there are ways for individuals and organizations to tackle this trend.

Loneliness for longer period is a big health issue which leads to chronic stress, as a result, levels of
inflammation in our body tend to be greater, that in turn can damage tissues and blood vessels. This
might be the reasons of risk of heart disease, depression, anxiety, and dementia that is associated with
loneliness. Peaks of loneliness seems to be actually early in life during young adulthood. Degree of
engagement in the workplace effects for one’s productivity, creativity and retention. For an
organization, if they care about worker engagement, the probability being loneliness goes down
because it is care about productivity and creativity that someone has possessed. It is care about how a
team works together then the degree of social connection that they perceive an experience in the
workplace make a big difference. It helps to have a good experience at work, find work uplifting, and
social connection also considered important. Such positive interactions and relationships in the
workplace help us to interact with family, friends and neighbors. We also need circles of people at
work to whom we can trust, with whom we can be open and can be ourselves.

On the other hand, Technology helps us to expand our efficiency but not in a right direction until we
recognize the expense of human relationships. It will lead to disengagement from colleagues and
from the company and organization itself which is not an organization want to follow. Fear of being
vulnerable in the workplace contributes to loneliness which impacts everyone, but leaders especially
should be strong and to inspire confidence so that can motivate workers. Culture of our workplace
can keep us apart, prevent us from sharing that ultimately lead us to loneliness.

An individual’s most powerful things that can strengthen human connection in the workplace is to
operate from a place of kindness and compassion. Another way to build a relationship is to listen
actively and fully with our attention, because that's it turns out one of the greatest gifts, we can give
another person is a gift of our full attention. A social recession is marked by an increase in physical
distancing can deepen our loneliness and isolation.
