PHOTOGRAPHY in Year 4…………….

Year 4 have had great fun taking photographs in
and around the school. Once they had taken
their shots the children then worked on their
editing skills such as cropping, rotating, changing
the brightness or background.

We think there are some budding photographers

in the class……..

Reception Class enjoyed meeting Mrs Ellis, their Year 1 teacher, when she visited
for a play. She asked them about their favourite activities and the children were
able to ask her some very important questions such as: “What do you have for
breakfast?” and “What do you like to play with?”

Year 2 are very grateful to Mr Cumming

(Henry’s daddy) for telling us all about his
job as a firefighter in assembly today.
We think all you dads and grandads are
‘the coolest!’ and wish you all a very Happy
Father’s Day...

Here comes the Sun!

Monday 14th June was the perfect sunny day for exploring shadows. Year 3 investigated whether
shadows change size. We went outside into the playground three times; at 10am, 12pm and 2pm
and measured the length of our shadows as well as checking the direction. We were surprised to
see that our shadows not only changed size but also direction. Back in the classroom, we learnt
why. At first we thought the Sun was moving but we discovered it is not - it's our planet moving!
Hairdressing in KG Page 4

Following the children’s interests, Kindergarten Hairdressers opened this week. The children took
on the roles of hairdresser, customer and receptionist. It was very popular judging by the full
‘waiting room’!! We even had a bride and groom have their hair styled for their special day!

Match report written by Mr Kang - Head Coach

(Joshveer Y6 dad)

On Sunday 13th June, Year 6 pupils Shaan, Aaron and Joshveer

played in a Final for their football club, Guru Nanak Gravesend,
against London Legends. It was a tough and tight match which
could have gone either way, but our boys played extremely
well and worked very hard to win 1-0!

Congratulations and well done to the boys who are now proud
2021 South East London & Kent Shield Winners!

Mr Scarff reports on peripatetic music:

“Bronte is thrilled to have recently purchased two

new 'state of the art' musical instruments,
a Gear4Music Digital Drumkit and a Yamaha P-125
Digital Piano. Whilst the old instruments have served
us well these new ones will give the children many
new musical opportunities.

The Drum Kit has many interesting sounds to explore

and the Piano will enable the more advanced
students to develop and explore different playing
techniques. The Piano is also portable so can be
used wherever it is needed. The new instruments
also have the advantage of making silent practice
possible!

The children are all very excited to start playing on

them.”

More gold certificates have been awarded this week for Mathletics. Today we congratulated Johnny,
Geeva and Taran (Year 2), Ndedeba and Cattleya (Reception). Keep up the excellent maths skills
everyone!

Year 6 children (and their parents) operated a Car Wash last Saturday in the school
car park to raise funds for their forthcoming prom. A big thank you to all the
families who came along – over £600 was raised. The children worked hard all
morning with only a few soapy water fights………..!!

Looking very pleased with herself this week is Inioluwa

(Reception class).

She sits beautifully on the journey to school and has

been nominated by Mrs Tehara and Mr Collins.

Well done Ini, this is super news.
