PROFED 9 MODULE 2- UNDERTANDING CURRICULUM PART 2
OVERVIEW:
There are many ways in which curriculum is conceived but they can be categorized into three
major conceptions: SUBJEC-CENTERED, STUDENT-CENTERED, PROBLEM-CENTERED.
It is important that when we design curriculum, we take note of what we consider to be most
important. At the same time, it is important to determine the correct ARTICULATION,
BALANCE, CONTINUITY, INTEGRATION, AND SEQUENCE in curriculum conception
process.
LEARNING OUTCOMES (LOS):
At the end of the module, students must have:
1. Described the three major conceptions of the curriculum: subject-centered, student-
centered, problem-centered;
2. Differentiated the principles or dimensions of curriculum design namely: articulation,
balance, continuity, integration, and sequence;
3. Determined the dimension of curriuclum illustrated in the certain cases;
4. Identify learning activities that align with teacher activities.
