RATIONALE
The concept of traditional education has changed radically within the last
couple of years. Being physically present in a classroom isn’t the only learning option
anymore not with the rise of the internet and new technologies, at least. Nowadays,
you have access to a quality education whenever and wherever you want, as long as
you can get online. We are now entering a new era — the revolution of online
education.

Online learning communities facilitate communication between people who

share common interests and learn collaboratively using networked technologies.

Tutoring is perhaps one of the earliest techniques of teaching. It helps learners

help themselves, or to assist or guide them to the point at which they become
independent learners.

The future of this nation is in the palm of this generation today. Thus, the
College of Teacher Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, will be having an
online tutor (synchronous). The purpose of this activity is to help the CTE students to
practice their future profession as early as possible, to strengthen their capabilities in
handling a learner, and to enhance the engagement and learning of the students.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To help students engage their own active learning and critical thinking skills. 
2. To create a virtual tutoring environment for students that emulates a face-to-
face experience which can help a student achieve success in a given class”
3. Facilitating insights into learning, and learning processes.
4. Providing a student perspective on learning and university success.
5. Respecting individual differences.

STRATEGIES TO SUSTAIN THE EXTENSION PROGRAM

By giving them materials to read and solve at home, the YES adviser will monitor
thru online or house to house monitoring every last Sunday of the month and give another
material for 2 months.
