Contextualized and Localized Activity in TLE 9

(Nail Care)

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of concepts, principle and techniques in manicure and
pedicure.

B. Performance Standard
The learner independently performs manicure and pedicure services.

C. Most Essential Learning Competencies

 Select color of the nail polish according to costumer’s requirements
 Apply nail polish from the base to the edge of the nail using light sweeping stroked around the
cuticle
 Check and analyse outcome according to the client’s nail service requirements

D. Community/Localized Competency
Select a color that will showcase Angono’s art and perform a nail design to selected client.

Activity: An Artist’s Nail Design

Angono is known as the ‘Art Capital of the Philippines’ because

it is the only town, despite its small geography and population, which has
produced and home to two National Artists namely Carlos ‘Botong’
Francisco for Painting and Prof. Lucio San Pedro for Music.
As an artist from the said municipality, you are tasks to join in an
art contest. You are going to select a color for the nail polish and perform
a basic nail design/art that will showcase the pride (art) of Angono. You
are going to select one (1) client from the audience and perform the said
task. Your client will check and analyse the outcome base on the
evaluation form.
