As the OIC of this first aid duty, I tried my best to I made sure that everyone was in their position
assign the roles of committee and the other first before the event started and ensured that all the
aiders according to their strengths and first aiders were clear on what to do in case there
weaknesses. I also tried to group the first aiders is a casualty. At the start of the event, I also

(a) (ii) What did you do to achieve these goals?
We had a lack of manpower because some of the cadets were
feeling unwell and were unable to turn up. Therefore, my planning
committee and I readjusted the allocation of manpower on the
morning of the event so that the number of first aiders in a certain
area will correlate to how dangerous the place is. I also made sure
that I had everyone’s attention when I said the changes of first
aiders at the different areas.
(b) (ii) What held you back from achieving these goals?
As the OIC, I had to oversee the entire first aid duty. As a result, I
could not gain any hands-on experience with the casualties. I feel
that while I have gained some leadership experience in leading
first aid duties, I do not think I have improved my first aid or
disaster management skills during this first aid duty.

What is your name? As the person holding the IC Role you wrote above, how did you feel about the First
Aid Duty? What made you feel that way?

I felt that this First Aid Duty was an success. During the planning, I learnt more about my batchmates
before assigning the different roles to them. I also tried to group the cadets based on how well they would
work together as a teamwork. As the OIC, I tried to take charge and ensured that everyone stayed on
task during the planning. On the actual day, I tried my best to make it clear to the cadets that they should
help and look out for one another. The event went smoothly as the cadets indeed did help one another
out while treating the casualties.

I feel that the First Aid Duty was a good experience for me as I got
to learn about allocation of manpower to different duty area and
Lok Zi Xin which area needed more first aider than the other, which area was
(name of person whose post-it you chose) more dangerous than the other, like slopes or bumpy road. I have
to experience it myself so that I can understand how to distribute
roles and duty to others in other First Aid Duty depending on the
areas.

 (a) the casualties? (b) the cadets participating in this project?

The First Aid base could have been slightly bigger
to accommodate all the casualties as it was very
packed. Furthermore, it started to rain heavily
towards the end of the event so some of the
casualties got wet.
Some of the cadets were also caught in the rain as
there was no shelter near their allocate point. I
hope that next time, I would try my best to make
sure that the cadets had some sort of shelter
nearby in the event of rain.
