Introduction
● All Trainee Prefects & Prefects will take turns to serve the school in morning
duty based on the week allocated to each group.
● Pairing system

Important Information for Morning Duty
1. Message your form teacher every day before 7.15 am from Monday to Friday and
before 8:15 am on Wednesdays.
2. Inform your (A)GLs AT LEAST A DAY BEFORE YOUR DUTY if you are unable to make
it for duty.
3. Inform your (A)GLs as early as possible if you will be late for morning duty.
4. After ending duty at 7.50am (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri) and 8.35am (Wed), you are to
take your temperature when you return to your class and report to your teacher.
Note:
It is important to do the above Points 1,2 and 3 in ensuring accountability for attendance and
Point 4 to ensure you are feeling well in view of COVID-19

Reporting time for Morning Duties
- Do report at the bench at spiral staircase level 1
Do report punctually for morning duties that you are deployed for and inform your (A)GLs if you are unable to make it

Flag Raising Duty (a brief description of the procedure)
Description:
- Raise the national flag and school flag

Late-coming Bench Recorder & Bench Usher
(a brief description of the procedure)
Description:
- Recording of late-comers
- Ushering of late-comers to the walkway
near the Counsellors’ Room

FCE & Science Block Usher
(a brief description of the procedure)
Deployment: 1 person
Description:
- Direct latecomers to the pathway
that leads to the foyer
- Stop anyone from going up the
stairs and not reporting to the late-
coming bench
Description:
- Patrol the corridors, classrooms and washrooms
- Look out for anyone who is not at assembly
- If there is someone, politely ask them to go for
assembly etc
Description:
- Assist the OM in preventing intruders from entering
the school
- Do not personally confront any intruders
- Call OM, Teachers or EXCOs immediately if you spot
any intruders
- Politely direct visitors/parents to the main gate for
recording of their information if they wish to enter

Routine Grooming Check for all Prefects
WHO is this for?
Compulsory for all Prefects.
WHAT do we expect?
Acceptable Grooming which you can refer to the student’s handbook.
WHEN it is conducted?
It is conducted on every Monday and Thursday, any time from 7.00am to 7.20am.
First Grooming check for New Trainee Prefects is on 6 April 2020, 7 am to 7.20 am
WHERE is it?
Prefect’s Room in the Study Area at Level 3
PROCEDURE
Tell the A(GL)s on duty for grooming your grouping number (Slides 4 to 7).
WHAT to say: eg; Group 1(Your group number), 1 (your number in your group)

If you are unable to attend, please inform your A(GL) AT LEAST A DAY BEFORE.

● Badge to be worn at all times, except during PE

❏ If you are not deployed for morning duty, you are allowed to wear half-uniform
with badge (Refer to Slide 24 for more info)

Summary for Trainee Prefects
★ Do take note of who your (A)GLs are, as you will be mainly working with them.
★ Learn as much as possible about the Morning Duties from your senior prefects
and ask questions when unsure
★ Take note of the timings to report for the respective duties in order to report
punctually (Refer to Slide 21)
★ Be aware of the expectations when you are on duty such as being on time,
informing your form teachers when you are on duty, absent etc
