Family Background
My Mom is Mexican My Dad is Salvadorian
Family Background
My one and only home: Nevada
Goals
biases and prejudices
My parents both have different biases and
prejudices.

With my dad, things are “old fashioned”. According to

him he should be in charge of the household and
what he says goes or he gets upset.

With my mom, things are always up for discussion. Her

belief is “everyones voice or opinion matters not just
the parents.” Basically saying, if you have a problem
we can talk to each other about it.

This was confusing to me when I was younger…

Life events
● July 11, 1999- I was born
● 2004- parents divorced
● 2006- my cat Leo ram away… very
traumatic
● May 27, 2009- my little brother
was born
● 2013- made varsity softball
● 2017- broke my hand and graduated
high school
● 2019- became supervisor at both
jobs
My Bias and Prejudice

• I believe that every

one should have a
voice and should be
given the opportunity
to communicate how
they feel respectively.

• Overall, I value
communication.
Religion or beliefs/values
● The common religion in the Hispanic
Culture is Catholicism.
● In Hispanic culture, religion creates an
opportunity for all family members to
come together a spend time with one
another.
● However, I am not religious, religion may
bring other families closer together, for
my family FOOD brings us together!
Language
● I only speak English.

● My whole family besides my siblings and

I, speak Spanish.

● Because I don’t speak Spanish, I

sometimes feel disconnected from my
non-English speaking family.

● Perhaps one day I will learn Spanish!
