Task 1 Writing: The following graph shows the number of passengers at London Underground

Station at different times during the day. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting
the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The graph provides information on the number of passengers at London Underground


Station each hour induring the day. This number fluctuates between 100 and 400 people from 6
a.m. to 10 p.m.
At the beginning of the day, there is a sharp increase in the number of passengers from
100 people at 6 a.m. to 400 people at 8 a.m. After that, it declines significantly to 200 people at
10 a.m. Since then, the figure rises moderately to about 300 people and then reaches a plateau
for a period of 2 hours before it starts to fall remarkably to 100 people at 4 p.m.
In the afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the number of passengers has a considerable
growth to reach a peak of 400 people. But, the figure then plunges to hit the bottom of 100
people at 8 p.m. By the end of the day, there is a slight rise to nearly 200 people using the
station before the number reduces again to 100 people at 10 p.m., just like the figure at 6 a.m.
and 4 p.m.
To sum up, there are many passengers at London Underground Station each hour but
the number is uneven. It The peak times coincides withconcentrates on the rush hours such
asaround 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. For the rest of the day, the figure fluctuates between 200 and 300
people.

the course of a day.

The busiest time of the day is in the morning. There is a sharp increase between 06:00 and
08:00, with 400 people using the station at 8 o'clock. After this the numbers drop quickly to
less than 200 at 10 o'clock. Between 11 am and 3 pm the number rises, with a plateau of just
under 300 people using the station. 

In the afternoon, numbers decline, with less than 100 using the station at 4 pm. There is then a
rapid rise to a peak of 380 at 6pm. After 7 pm, numbers fall significantly, with only a slight
increase again at 8pm, tailing off after 9 pm.

Overall, the graph shows that the station is most crowded in the early morning and early
evening periods.
