1. Find the current through 100Ω resistor for the circuit shown in Fig.1 using mesh
current method.

Fig.1

Ans:
-450 i1+ 150 i2+300i3 = -24
150 i1-300 i2+100i3 = 0
300 i1+ 100 i2-650i3 = -24

i1=0.136 , i2=0.093 ,i3= 0.077, I 100 = 0.016A

2. Determine the value of load resistor for the circuit shown in Fig.2, if
maximum power is transferred. Also calculate the maximum power across
the load resistor. [10]

Fig.2

P=34.63W
3. Find the voltage across 30Ω resistor in the circuit shown in Fig.3 using nodal
analysis. [10]

Fig. 3

Ans:
0.083V1-0.017V2 =23
-0.017V1-0.075V2 =1.667

V1 =295.37 V
V2 = 89.18 V
V30 =39V

4. i) Find the equivalent resistance in the circuit shown in Fig.4.

ii) How much power is delivered by the source? [10]

Ans:

R = 17.5 Ω
P = 10937.5 W

5. A 20  resistance and a 30mH inductance are connected in series

and the circuit is fed from 230V, 50Hz, AC supply. Find
inductive reactance, RMS value of current, voltage across resistance,
voltage across inductance and power factor of the circuit.
Draw the phasor diagram. [10]
