Good morning to one and all present here. I am Mansi Singh of class 12 D with my co
hosts,
(Urmi)-Urmi Basu and
(Namya)-Namya Sethi
(Mansi)- feel privileged to extend a warm and a cordial welcome to the honored judges,
esteemed principal ma’am, revered teachers and of course, our starring students.
(Urmi)- How lovely is this day and so is the ambience and aura surrounding it! Today
we’ve gathered here virtually for the inter school fitness and wellness meet.
(Mansi)-This is a platform to ring into line with our vision which states that not only
The scholarly development of an individual is important but the development of a
complete persona which helps students to stand out in the competitive professional
environment.
(Namya)- Sports events like this play a vital role in our life as it keeps us healthy,
wealthy and active. We can have a healthy mind only when we have a healthy body.
(Urmi)-Great achievements come our way when we maintain our physical and mental
well-being.

(Urmi)-My first and foremost duty, on behalf of Gd goenka Public school greater noida,
to welcome you all at today’s function. We are honored to have you all with us.

(Mansi)- Let me just acknowledge the presence of some of our respected and dearest.
Starting with I have our Principal ma’am. For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen our
esteemed principal ma’am Dr Renu Sehgal ma’am strive tirelessly with extraordinary
passion to make Gd Goenka the institution it is today. Her commitment to create a
better world for all of us is nothing short of legendary. We’re certainly grateful for your
presence ma’am, we welcome you.

(Namya)- I’m profusely overjoyed to welcome our judge for the

(Urmi)-As you’re aware, we’re conducting 3 events for grade 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. .
First event namely, Can’t Catch us. Second event, Fitness Chasers and the third event,
The ball busters.

(Namya)-I will now make you aware of the rules for Event 1, Can’t catch us.
ROUND I EVENT NAME: ONE STEP AT A TIME
EVENT TYPE: HOPPING ON ONE LEG
1)The participants should set up in a comfortable athletic position with the feet at
roughly shoulder width apart and their arms by their sides.
2)The participants should shift their body weight to one leg and lift the unsupported
leg off the floor.
3)The participants should descend quickly to a quarter squat position and extend their
arms behind their torso.
4) The participants should drive upwards and land softly by absorbing the impact with
the hips and knees.
5) Participants should repeat for the maximum number of repetitions.
6) Equipment required: NO EQUIPMENT
7)Time duration: 30 second.
8)Judgement criteria: Maximum numbers of successful attempts will be counted.

(Urmi)-ROUND II EVENT NAME: SHOOTING STARS


EVENT TYPE: THROW AND CATCH THE BALL
1) The participants should throw a ball into the air, clap their hands and catch it.
Repeat for the maximum number of repetitions.
2) Equipment required: Tennis ball.
3)Time duration: 30 second.
4)Judgement criteria: Maximum numbers of successful attempts will be counted.

(Mansi)-ROUND III EVENT NAME: Skipsations


EVENT TYPE: SKIPPING ROPE
1)The participant should jump on the midsoles of their feet and land softly.
2)The participant should maintain a tall, neutral spine.
3)The participant should use his/her wrists to turn the rope (not their elbows or
shoulders).
4) The participant should perform in a rhythmic manner and continuous movement.
5)Equipment required: Skipping rope.
6)Time duration: No time limit.
7) Judgement criteria: Maximum time duration of a successful attempt will be counted.

(Urmi)-Rules and Regulation for Event 2, Fitness chaser


ROUND I EVENT NAME: BODY CONQUEST
EVENT TYPE: FLAMINGO BALANCE
1)The participants should balance on the preferred leg, the free leg will be flexed at the
knee and the foot of this leg held close to the buttocks.
2) Pause the stopwatch at the time the subject loses balance (letting go of the foot being
held).
3) Any participant will be disqualified, if he/she falls within 60 seconds of balancing.
4)Equipment Required: NO EQUIPMENTS
5)Time duration: 60 second.
6)Judgement criteria : Successful attempts of balancing will be recorded.

(Mansi)-ROUND II EVENT NAME: NO SPEED LIMIT


EVENT TYPE: PLATE TAPPING
1)The participants should stand comfortably in front of the discs.
2)Participants should stand in a balanced posture, feet apart to shoulder width.
3)The two discs are placed with their centers 60 cm apart on the table.
4)The rectangle is placed equidistant between both discs.
5)The non-preferred hand is placed on the rectangle.
6)The subject moves the preferred hand back and forth between the discs over the
hand in the middle as quickly as possible. This action is repeated for 25 full cycles (50
taps). Equipment Required: Table, 2 discs (20cm diameter) and rectangle (30 x 20 cm).
Judgement criteria: The time taken to complete 25 cycles will be recorded.
Consumption of minimum time will be considered.

(Namya)-ROUND III EVENT NAME: Inch by Inch


EVENT TYPE: PARTIAL CURL UP
1)The participants should lie on a cushioned, flat, clean surface with knees flexed,
usually at 90 degrees, with hands straight on the sides (palms facing downwards)
closer to the ground, parallel to the body.
2) The participants should raise the trunk in a smooth motion, keeping the arms in
position, curling up the desired amount (at least 6 inches above/along the ground
towards the parallel strip).
3) The trunk is lowered back to the floor so that the shoulder blades or upper back
touch the floor.
4)Infrastructure/Equipment Required: Flat clean surface with two parallel strips (6
inches apart).
5) Judgement criteria: Record the maximum number of Curl ups in a certain time
period i.e.30 seconds.

(Mansi)-Last but not the least, Rules and regulations for event 3, The ball busters are
ROUND I EVENT NAME: SHOOT THE BALL
EVENT TYPE: BOTH HAND SHOOTS UP
1)The participants should lay down on the surface.
2)The participants should shoot up the ball in the air and collect it with both hands.
3)The elbow should be straight and the wrist should be in hook position during the
execution of the Basketball.
4)The participants should repeat for the maximum number of repetitions.
5)Equipment Required: BASKETBALL (use 6 or 7 number size)
6) Time duration: 60 second.
7)Judgement criteria: Successful attempt of shoot up will be recorded

(Namya)-ROUND II EVENT NAME: BASKET BUSTERS


EVENT TYPE: RIGHT HANDS SHOOTS UP
1)The participants should lay down on the surface.
2) The participants should shoot up the ball in the air with their right hand and collect
it with their right hand only.
3)The elbow should be straight and the wrist should be in hook position during the
execution of the Basketball.
4) The participants should repeat for the maximum number of repetitions. Equipment
Required: BASKETBALL (use 6 or 7 number size).
5)Time duration: 60 second.
6)Judgement criteria: Successful attempt of shoot up will be recorded.

(Urmi)-ROUND III EVENT NAME: WINNERS OF THE BALL


EVENT TYPE: RIGHT HANDS SHOOTS UP
1)The participants should lay down on the surface.
2) The participants should shoot up the ball in the air with their left hand and collect it
with their left hand only.
3)The elbow should be straight and the wrist should be in hook position during the
execution of the Basketball.
4)The participants should repeat for the maximum number of repetitions.
5)Equipment Required: BASKETBALL (use 6 or 7 number size)
6)Time duration: 60 second.
&)Judgement criteria: Successful attempts of shoot up will be recorded.

(Mansi) -We’re now starting with the event. Fill the air with cheering and tons of
encouragement for the young athletes. Now, with no further ado let’s begin with the
competition

(Namya)-ALL THE BEST TO ALL THE PARTICIPANTS, MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!

(Urmi)-Now I’d request the participants of school code to turn on their audios and
videos, start with their turn.

After the event Lines

(Mansi)- A healthy nation is always a wealthy nation. Therefore, it is necessary to put


emphasis on sports.
One can think of a healthy mind only in a healthy body. Both physical and mental well
being are the prerequisites of great achievements in man’s life.

(Namya)-It is a great honour to witness such talent through these small activities.
We’re glad to have such active participants.

(Mansi)-A good teacher will appreciate the good qualities of his students. If one good
quality is allowed to emerge, a world of good qualities will emerge from that one. We’re
very privileged and honored to have with us the judge of today’s event Mrs
------------------------------------------. I’d request him to kindly share a few words of
encouragement.

(Urmi)-Thank you so much, sir/ Mam, that was indeed motivating and extremely
informative. I’d now call upon our respected principal ma’am Dr Renu Sehgal Ma’am to
