OVERVIEW OF THE CASE

CITPR Ltd. Is an IT and Consultancy firm and has an employee base of around 10000.It
serves around 22 clients everywhere the world . This case study discusses the concepts
of HR Planning, Recruitment Processes and HR Communication. Mr. Swami the HR
Manager at CITPR Ltd. found himself during a big trouble for not allowing the HR
process carefully. This resulted during a highly chaotic situation, which placed the
careers of several students of TTC College of Engineering and Management at stake,
when CITPR Ltd. after selecting them within the campus interview, denied them for final
placement offer letters. This case depicts that how improper HR Planning, delaying in
communication and initiating official action supported speech poses a
significant problem to the participants. Also, shows what corrective measures are
often taken if such a situation arises.
Questions
1. Discuss the major issues highlighted in the case study.
Answer: Major issues highlighted in the case study:

• CITPR did campus recruitment and did not provide offer letters to the chosen students
and hence caused trouble for his or her future.
• Lack of coordination and awareness amongst the workers of CITPR.
• Rash deciding without concrete evidence by the Recruitment Manager, Mr. Swami, at
CITPR.
• Wrong deciding by the location Officer, Mr. Ravi Sampat, as he didn't allow his
students to take a seat for other companies even when the maturity for provision of offer
letters from CITPR had passed and there have been vague responses from Mr. Swami
and Mr. Ganesh .
2. In your opinion could Mr. D. Ganesh have taken some measures to avoid the
embarrassment caused to CITPR? Justify your option with relevant arguments.
Answer: In my opinion Mr. D Ganesh could have taken some measures to avoid the
embarrassment caused to the Company:
• Initially he shouldn't have trusted Mr. Swami blindly and will have asked him to
attend for the demand to be ascertained. this is able to have delayed the recruitment
process but would have definitely saved the corporate from embarrassment.
• After the recruitment fiasco, he could have stabilized things by informing the
school about the shortage and therefore the mishap that went on from the corporate in
order that the school could have asked its students to take a seat for other companies.
3. Elucidate the serious omissions by Mr. Swami related to the campus recruitment
drive at TTC College of Engineering and Management.
Answer: Serious omissions by Mr. Swami related to the campus recruitment drive at
TTC College of Engineering and Management: He didn't back the anticipated demand for
.net professionals with facts. He glided by what was told to him by the VP of development ,
Mr. D Ganesh once they were within the middle of signing a deal. He acted on his
assumption and went ahead with the interviews even before the deal was fixed. He
unknowingly kept Mr. Sampat in dark by giving a wrong information and was also liable for
affecting the career of the scholars .
4. Do you think the actions taken against Mr. Swami and Mr. Sampat were justified?
Substantiate your stance with reasons.
Answer: consistent with my opinion action taken against Mr. Sampat was justified and
action taken against Mr. Swami wasn't justified. Action taken against Mr. Sampat was
justified because he shouldn't are persuading the HR manger to pick more students and he
cannot cash in of the great relationship he had with the recruiter to understand the
recruitment results. Even after knowing the results he's not alleged to reveal it to the
scholars since it had been unofficial and he should have allowed those students who got
selected to sat for next recruitment drives until they receive official offer letters from the
corporate . Then he should have informing this to the director earlier itself. The action taken
against Mr. Sampat was issue of show-cause notice and no increment for next four years
which is justified as he will consider all the mistakes next time. On the opposite hand, Mr.
Swami was fired from the work which wasn't so justified. He should have given some
considerations. He was an honest recruiter which is clear from the statement made by Mr.
Ganesh that Mr. Ganesh was satisfied with the working sort of Mr. Swami. He should are
given a lesser punishment than firing from job.
