TASK:

A. Mr Pepito Santos is the principal of Kabutihan Elementary School. He has been a principal for
twenty years. His teachers greatly admire his management of the school. If you are one of the
teachers of Kabutihan ES give your comments that reveal why Mr. Santos is viewed as an effective
principal and other member of Kabutihan Elementary School.

Answer:
If I were one of the teachers in the Kabutihan ES, I can say that our principal has been a good and
instructional leader of our school. This is because he/she is an active leader that possesses multiple traits
or characteristics. He/she is always providing us resources that we used in teaching our students and
organized programs and trainings that can eventually support and help improve our knowledge and skills
in teaching. In addition to that, He/she regularly called for a meeting to disseminate important information
or updates and for being a good communicator we are being motivated and well informed that lead to a
good result in our work. These things won’t be achieved if our principal is not present in the school. That
is why we are so thankful that despite the loads and hectic schedule she/he has. He/she is still visible in
school to instruct and guide us.

B.
1. Imagine yourself as a parent, what would you expect your children’s principal to do?
Answer:
Being in the parent’s perspective or views to the principal of what she/he needs to do to our
children in school. I think I will expect him/her to at least provide multiple and helpful opportunities to
students to learn. And of course, principal should make the school safe and conducive to learning.
Learner’s welfare must be the top priority.

2. Teachers expect also something from the principal. What would you expect?
Answer:
There are many expectations that a teacher want to his principal. Naming all would be tiring.
That’s why I will just give at least three things that I expect to him. First is, he should be a good
instructional leader that helps me and my colleagues to improve our teaching and learning skills.
Second, he must be a good communicator. I do not want to happen again the experience I had with my
head teacher when she give comments about my video lesson during my observation. Maybe being
constructive in giving criticism is also a must just to avoid discouraging comments in the teachers. For it
really takes away my confidence. Lastly, he should always be around in the school.

3. Think yourself as a learner, what would you expect of your principal?

Answer:
As learner, I think principal should always roam around the school. Principal should beautify the
school vicinity to the eyes of the learners and making it safe and friendly. The school should also has
places that we could nurture our talents and skills through building a different park for the different
learning areas.

4. How about as community stakeholder, what would you expect of your principal?
Answer:
As a community stakeholder, I expect the principal in our school to always connect and
communicate to us about the updates with regards to student’s progress and happenings in the school.
He/she must also be transparent in all she/he do.
