A. Activity
The teacher will ask for 4 volunteers (2 pairs) to read the dialogue
aloud while the others are going to take note of what the conversations are
about.
CONVERSATION 1
William: Excuse me, am sorry to trouble you, but could you tell me how I can
get to the bus station?
Kate: Yes no problem, it's that way. Keeping walking straight ahead then after
you pass the library you have to turn left. then take your first right and it's
across from the police station. You cannot miss it!
William: Thank you so much! I have only been in Davao for 2 days, so I don't
know how to get anywhere yet.
Tourist: OK. Torres Avenue., straight on and then the third left, Palm Drive.
Person: No, it's the second left.
2. What have you observed on the sentences? (the students are expected to
answer that it is about asking and giving directions)

D. Application
On the board, the teacher will show a map and ask “Where is the
library (for example)?” Have a student come to the board and point it out.
Then ask where a few other landmarks are and have students draw and
label them on your map. Then, the teacher will mark an imaginary present
location on a map and ask your students “How do I get to the ~? Then,
the teacher will call on one student to give just the first section of
directions, then another student for the second section, and then another
until the destination is reached. Next, mark a beginning position on the
map and give a set of directions. Ask students “Where am I?” to see if
they were able to follow along and repeat.
Generalization
The teacher will ask questions to measure what the students have
learned in the discussion and what is the importance of giving the right
directions in real life.
Evaluation
Assignment:
In your notebook, give the direction from your house to the school. Do not
forget to use the prepositions of directions. You can add a drawing for
teacher’s reference.
