A. Introduction Prayer: Audio Visual Presentation

Review: The teacher will post the review activity on the board. The
pupils will answer it by filling in the blanks with the correct word to
complete the sentence.

An adverb is a word that tells something about a (verb), and


(adjective), and another adverb.
Adverb of (manner) tells how an action is done.
It answers the question (how). Adverbs of manner usually (ends) in
–ly.

Motivation
Teacher: Have you been on a trip?
Pupil: Yes/No
Teacher: Where you able to see some signs and symbols that tell
something about the place you have been to?
Pupil: Yes/No
Teacher: That’s great some of you says yes and some says no, so
for today I am going to show you some of the signs and symbols
that tell something about the places here in Noveleta.
Teacher: You are going to do this with a pair I will give you a
picture. You are going to identify what’s in the picture and figure out
if you have been in that place or not. Are you ready?
Pupil: Yes we are ready (may vary)
The teacher will give 5 minutes for them to form the pictures.

B. Development Discussion
Teacher: Before we proceed to our discussion let us know first the
meaning of this words.
Word Bank
Signs- a mark having a conventional meaning and used in place of
words.
Symbols- A symbol is a mark, sign, or word that indicates,
signifies, or is understood as representing an idea, object, or
relationship.

The teacher will discuss using the pictures in Motivation.


Ask what signs you can find in those places (pictures)
Learning Task 1: Draw at least three signs and symbols that you see in
your community. Do this on your show me board.
The teacher will show a map for LT2.
Learning Task 2: The teacher will show a map for LT2. (Localized Map),
then ask the following questions based on the map.
1. What establishment is located beside Alfa Mart?
2. Phillip and his cousin decided to eat, on which street will they go?
3. What is the location of the Camella Homes where Phillip stays?
4. Where can you buy some basic needs like canned goods and rice?
5. Phillip wanted to buy some cookies from the bakery. Where is it
located?
Remember: The title of a map contains the information the map is telling
you. And there are four basic directions. These are the north, south, east,
and west.
Learning Task 3: Choose the letter of the statement that corresponds to
the given signs and symbols.
Teacher: Here are some of the signs and symbols that you must
remember.
The teacher will discuss more of the signs and symbols.

Always Remember that; Reading and interpreting maps, signs and
symbols is important because it helps a person find unfamiliar locations
and it helps a person keeps away from hazard.
There are four basic directions namely north, south, east, west.
Answer this task in a piece of paper.
Learning Task 4: Study the map of Barangay San Antonio 2. Read the
text, then answer the questions that follow. Write your answers in a
paper.
Sam lives in Barangay San Antonio 2. His house is across Dalandan Street
north of the barangay hall. Toby, Sam’s best friend, lives near Sam’s
house. His house is located at the corner of Dalandan Street and Mangga
Street.

1. What is located north of Sam’s house?
2. What is found west of the barangay hall.
3. Sam will visit his best friend Toby. From his house, which street
should he take?
4. When Sam reached his best friend’s house, they decided to have
some ice cream. From Toby’s house, how can they reach the ice cream
parlor ?
5. Sam’s mother works as a barangay health worker. She needs to buy
some goods for their feeding program. Which way should she go if she is
coming from the barangay hall?
D. Assimilation ASSIGNMENT
Directions: Complete the paragraph by selecting the appropriate
answers from the given choices below. Write your answers in your
notebook.
