Content Standard:

 Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of sets and the real number system.

Performance Standard:

 Is able to formulate challenging situations involving sets and real numbers and solve these in a
variety of strategies.

Learning Competencies:

 Illustrates the different properties of operations on the set of integers.


 Expresses rational numbers from fraction form to decimal form and vice versa.

Transfer Goal:

 The students on their own and in the long run will be able to perform independently the
knowledge and skills about different properties of real numbers and set of fractions and decimals
to solve routine and non-routine problems.

Essential Questions:

1. How are properties of operations applied in rational numbers?


2. How would you distinguish a rational number from an irrational number?
3. How to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa?

Enduring Understanding:

The student will be able to understand that fundamental operations and properties of operations are
applied in solving real-life problems, fractions and decimals are related, and there are conditions in
distinguishing rational and irrational numbers.
