Facilitation Process
Methodology
The teacher will reinforce the concept of natural and whole numbers by a ‘one-minute
quiz’ which will enable the students to revise their concepts. Different questions of finding
the successor and predecessor of given number and to find the whole numbers between
given rational numbers of Ex. 2.1 of NCERT will be discussed.
Activity:
The facilitator will give the inputs and students will perform the activity given in Maths lab
manual i.e. To add ,subtract and multiply the whole numbers using a number line and will
record their results.
The media related to whole numbers in Tata class edge content will be shown to the
students. It will further enhance their previous knowledge .
Check for Understanding Q 1.) Write the next three whole numbers occurring after
2008?
Q 2.) All natural numbers are whole numbers but all the
whole numbers are not natural numbers. Explain.
Q 3.) Verify that (a+b) = (b+a) for a=34 and b=79. State the
property used.

Facilitation Process
Methodology
Students will paste the snap recap of whole numbers given in number magic in which all the
properties are given in tabular form . The facilitator will explain the different properties of whole
numbers such as
Closure property
Commutative property
Associative property
Distributive property
Additive Identity
Multiplicative Identity
with a suitable example.
Activity: Students will perform one activity to verify the commutative property of addition
and subtraction of whole numbers using origami paper
The students will be asked to compare the properties for addition, subtraction and
multiplication.
Check for Understanding Different examples will be written on the board and
students will be asked to identify different properties. For
