I. INTRODUCTION
Record keeping is one of the most important activity in a school. It encompasses all the
activities and actions of a school specifically, the teachers. Documents are needed to ensure the
accuracy and validity of every activity to promote a good school management system.
As stated in DepEd Memorandum No. 140, s. 2016 entitled Creation of Records
Management Improvement Committee states that each agency shall create a Records
Management Improvement Committee (RMIC) as an advisory body on the development of
records management. It is imperative that each institution must have a record keeping committee
to promote a smooth flow of data needed and released by the school or institutions to maintain
effective management.
In lieu with this Memorandum, Tomas Pua Sr. Integrated School through the School
Improvement Plan proposed a project called PROJECT RECORD to manage the circulation of
communication letters, reports and data.
II. OBJECTIVES
The main goal of Project RECORD is to improve filing of different
communications/reports needed of teachers from 98% to 100%. In order to fulfill the said goal,
there is a need to create a Record Management Committee that will supervise and do the record
keeping for easier retrieval of records and data when needed. Thus, Tomas Pua Sr. Integrated
School constructed its Record Management Committee to monitor the records accepted and
released by the school.
IV. FINDINGS
It is very important to have a system to promote an effective and efficient school services.
