This presentation will showcase the multilingual landscape in the Visayas and Mindanao areas,
specifically the characteristics of the speakers, their backgrounds, and the rationale for
examining their context. Breakthroughs from studies produced about Cebuano bilinguals and
multilinguals will likewise be discussed and their potential applications to SLP assessment and
intervention will be explored. Finally, existing knowledge gaps will be presented to pose the
future research directions for bilingualism/multilingualism in the Visayas and Mindanao.
