ESTIMATING FARM INPUTS AND LABOR REQUIREMENTS


1. Visit a vegetable Farm near to your Home or School.

It was Friday afternoon April 30,2021 at exact 9 am, I visited one of the farm
here in Buru-un namely Las Cidas farm. Due to pandemic I had only limited time to
talk to the owner because they are strict when it comes to safety protocols we had
only a 30-minute conversation for the reason they had an important appointment.
The following are the data that I have gathered.
A. Area
The owner said that the total area of their land is 2 hectares and half of it was
their organic plant such as Miracle Fruit, Gran berry etc. However there are
approximately 400 Square Meter for their vegetable farm. The following are
the data I have gathered.

responsible from the start of the process up to the harvesting.
They are also called the “Maintenance”. At the end of the
month they will have 5400 pesos excluded the rest day.

responsible from the start of the process up to the harvesting.
They are also called the “Maintenance”. At the end of the
month they will have 5400 pesos excluded the rest day.

N. Quantity of Fertilizer to be used after the Survey until


Harvesting

- Overall, they will use 5 sacks of “PURE WORM CASTINGS


ORGANIC FERTILIZER” when I visited the farm they already
consumed 3 sacks of it so, there only 2 sacks remaining up to
the time of harvest

O. Number of workers required to perform fertilization after the


survey until final harvesting

P. Amount of salary needed for fertilizer application after this


survey until harvesting

- Each worker has given 200 pesos per day. These people are
responsible from the start of the process up to the harvesting.
They are also called the “Maintenance”. At the end of the
month they will have 5400 pesos excluded the rest day.

Q. Estimated irrigation expenses from planting up to


harvesting

- Here in Buru-un, Iligan City , we are so fortunate when it comes


to water because we don’t have any payments of it because it
is free , given by nature. Talking of irrigation expenses
according to the owner they only spent 10k way back from the
start of their business for buying water pump and until now
they are still using this pump.The pumps are responsible of
sucking water from the river to their respective farm.

- They have only 1 maintenance in their water pump.

- When it comes to spraying insecticides, They hired workers


that are intended for spraying. According to the owner they
need 4 people to do spraying
