Concept:
What is a phrase?
- A phrase is a group of related words that is used as a
single part of speech. It will not contain both a subject
and a predicate.
- They don’t have complete thoughts.

Examples:
1. Old and weak
2. Ten lovely Indians
3. Lovely day
4. A rainy morning

What is a sentence?
- Is a group of words expressing a complete thought.
- While writing a sentence we begin it with a capital letter
and end with a full stop.
- Every sentence has two essential parts:
SUBJECT PREDICATE
The subject of a sentence is the part The predicate of a sentence is the part
about which something is being said. which says something about the
subject.
The flower bloomed. Bill told everyone about the wreck.

Bob is painting. Marry sobbed.

Concept: What can you say about this picture?

What is adjective?

- Is a word/s that describes or gives more information about a


nouns or pronoun.
Examples: beautiful flower big house

- Adjectives describes nouns in terms of such qualities as size,


color, number, and kind.
Examples:
The lazy dog sat on the rug.
The lazy, old, brown, dog sat on the rug.

- Usually an adjective comes before the noun.


Tall man
- It can also come after a form of the word be-verbs
The man is tall.
