Using a Stopwatch

Working with a partner, complete the following tasks:
a. Estimate how long you think it will take you to complete each task.
b. Using the stopwatch and a partner, take turns measuring the actual amount
of time it takes to complete the task (each person needs to complete their
own sheet individually).
c. Convert the time to minutes (make sure to show working in the space
provided).
d. Compare your actual time to your partner’s actual time for the same activity.

Stopwatch Activity!

I used this activity with my lower level Year 11s who are completing
portfolio evidence for Unit Standard 26627: Use measurement to
solve problems. Included in this task are estimating, comparing results,
taking measurements, and showing working for various steps of the
task.
