competency for this unit.

To demonstrate competence you must correctly answer all questions. Any shortfalls or wrong
responses may be followed up by your trainer in verbal, written or practical instance.

Question 1: Regardless of why you do a presentation, there are a number of key aspects you
need to consider. Name 3 of these.
1. Presentation offer opportunities for developing skills and knowledge together.
2. To provide value to the prospect
3. Presentation must be well prepared in order to be able to give information to the
audience properly.

Question 2: Whenever you prepare for a presentation, you first need to understand why you
are doing the presentation and what goals you wish to achieve from it. Why?
Before preparing material for a presentation, it is worth considering your
prospective audience. Tailoring your talk to the audience is important and the
following points should be considered: The size of the group or audience
expected. When you are doing a presentation you always have a goal. You are trying to
get a message across. You are trying to teach your audience. Or you are trying to sell
something. There is always a presentation goal.

Question 3: What are 3 considerations you may need to make when delivering presentations to
different target audiences or cultural backgrounds?
1.The language you use in a cross cultural presentation is important
2.Some presentations may be in front of a small number of people and deal with
sensitive issues in a pressured environment.

Question 4: Name 3 techniques you can use to adjust your presentation for people from
different backgrounds.
1. To be effective, you have to possess the habit of forced pauses as the audience
can have an opportunity to think about your talk for a minute and digest all the
information as well. Do not talk as if there is no end to your Presentation,
because it will eliminate the chance of inviting questions from listeners.
2. To indicate the must information, use highlight pens and to avoid looking down
again and again, you can use the top 2/3 of the page. Not just this, in order to
make the types easy to read use bullet ed points. If you are able to do that,
certainly it will make a perfect Presentation for you and your audience.
3. If you are a non English speaker you may find challenging to present an idea to
a large audience, but there are some phrases and sentences that you can
practice in advance. There are tons of useful phrases for a presentation
