DOT PERMIT APPLICATION

1. Sign into nycstreets.net email: info@rockbuildersny.com, pass: DOTpermits@146


2. On left corner, click on permits, and then permit application
3. Fill out permittee type general contractor in step 1
4. In step 2, fill out the address and click on add. Click on the little checkbox next to the address
down below and select ‘no’
5. Step 3 is selecting all the permits you are applying for
6. Step 4 is entering the permit information. Click on show details, edit details for selected
locations. A) Enter OCMC # (you can find it on BNEC meeting sheet under our DOT folder), B)
work start and end dates-a permit can be active for 90 days, so always put maximum date
range, C) if it’s equipment permit, enter number of equipment, D) work on both-sidewalk is
concrete and roadway is asphalt. And then hit ‘update all permits’.
7. Step 5 is uploading documents. Hit upload documents-all supporting documents. Upload main
DOB permit, DOB fence permit and DOT BNEC meeting sheet. You need to upload every
supporting document separately. For every doc you want to upload you need to click again on
all supporting documents and choose file and then upload. To add another doc, click on the +
symbol and repeat the steps.
8. Lastly, click submit
9. Once the application has been approved and ready for payment, log in again into the DOT site,
go to permittee on left top side (next to ‘permits’ where you have applied for the permit) and
then hit ‘permittee activity’
10. Copy paste the application tracking number (you can find it in the subject of the email from the
DOT that the application is ready for payment) and hit search
11. Click on the orange ‘pay’ and proceed to pay for the permit.
12. Once payment went through, email to the owner the payment confirmation you should get via email
13. Sign in again, permittee, permittee activity, application tracking number and then hit ‘download’
14. Save the permits in the DOT active permit folder, rename it with the expiration date and
make a google calendar reminder a few days before it expires in order to renew.
DOT PERMIT RENEWAL

1. Sign into DOT site, click on permits on left top corner and then permit modifications.
2. Enter application tracking number you are looking to renew, then search and click renew
3. Check off all permits you would like to renew now (before expiration check with Leo what
permits he would like to have renewed)
4. Click on the orange ‘renew’
5. Enter a new end date (90 day period from when permit expires)
6. Upload documents: same steps as when applying for permit, but one more step is to upload the
permits that are expiring now
7. Click on submit and wait for email that application was approved and ready for payment
8. Repeat payment steps like when applying for permit, download, save and set reminders, name permit
file in the DOT folder with the expiration date
