I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:

1. recognize the different models of communication;

2. differentiate the various models of communication; and

3. explain the importance of the models of communication.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Communication Models

 Schramm’s Model

 Berlo’s Model
Materials:

 Projector screen

 LCD

 Laptop

 Extension cord

 Audio-visual presentation

 Powerpoint presentation

III. Instructional Activities

A. Daily Routine

 Opening Prayer

 Checking of Attendance

B. Priming

 Message Relay

C. Procedure

1. Activity

 The class is divided into 3 groups. Each group will be instructed to

do the given situation:

GROUP 1 – Commencement Exercise

GROUP 2 – Sharing of vacation story with a friend


GROUP 3 – Telephone conversation

The students will be graded according to the following criteria:

 Suitability to the model – 50%

 Clarity of presentation – 25%

 Cooperation – 25%

2. Analysis

 The students will be asked of the following:

a. What is common among the situations presented by each group?

b. Can you explain how the message in each situation was

communicated?

3. Abstraction

 Discussion/Powerpoint presentation on the various models of

communication.

4. Application

 Complete the chart showing the similarities and differences

among the 3 models of communication.
