SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

A. Content Standards
The learner understands the nature and elements of oral communication in context.
B. Performance Standards
The learner designs and performs effective controlled and uncontrolled oral communication
activities based on context.
C. Learning Competencies/Objectives
• Identifies the different models of communication;
• Differentiates the communication models; and
Illustrates the different communication models.
IV. PROCEDURES
(Note: Discussions may change course (deviate from the original plan) depending on students’ responses to
questions or prompts given by the teacher.)
A. Preliminary Activities
Prayer
Calling of attendance
Collecting and Checking of Assignments
B. Review
Recall the process of communication.
Have the students enumerate the elements of communication.
C. Presentation
Say:
This morning we are going to discuss about communication. At the end of the lesson, you are expected
to a. Identify the different models of communication;
b. Differentiate the communication models; and
c. Illustrate the different communication models.
D. Activity
DO:
Group the students into three (3) groups.
Assign a model of communication for each group to brainstorm on.
Have them outline the concepts they came up with regarding their assignment.
Ask a representative from each group to present their outline.
E. Analysis
ASK:
What is the significance of knowing the different communication models?
F. Abstraction
DO:
Discuss and illustrate the models of communication.
Summarize the concepts learned from the lesson.
G. Application
Option A: With the same groups, have the students present an example of scenario for each of the
communication models.
Option B: (Individual) Differentiate the models of communication using a graphic organizer.
V. ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION
DO: Have the students answer the following:
1. This communication is considered as one way process where the sender is the only one who
sends message and the receiver doesn’t give feedback or response.
2. This communication model is also known as convergence model.
3. This communication model is used for mass communication.
4. This model of communication has simultaneous and instant feedback.
5. Which of the following shows linear communication.
a. Listening to the radio
b. Talking to a friend
c. Exchanging text messages with a friend
d. Chatting with a friend in Facebook
