Learning Task 10.

5 : Be a Packaging Designer (Required)

In this activity, you will put into work your understanding in solving word problems involving
polynomials and polynomial equations by playing the role of a package designer. You are going to create
and design a container of a hand sanitizer. The best container is the one that has the least material cost
but is the most efficient one.

For your guide, below are some tips and a Power Point Presentation.

Here are some tips:

1.     If you prepare a cylindrical container, consider its radius and height with the least surface area.
2.     Show the surface area in terms of the radius of the base.
Volume = Bh = , where r is the radius of the circle and h is the height
3.     Make a table of values to find the dimensions of the container that minimizes the surface area.
4.     Consider other containers. Do the same as how you did in the cylindrical container.

Present your findings by describing the procedures you do to support whatever conclusions you
have arrived at. (Do not forget to take a photo of your findings or explanation then submit it here).

Below is the given situation and the Rubric for your score guide for this activity.

GIVEN:

The Angel Locsin Foundation is planning to give hand sanitizers to the people to help in this
pandemic situation (COVID-19). They want it to be personalized in recognition to the front liners. As part
of the packaging committee, you are to design a container that will hold 250 ml of hand sanitizer.
