 Make sure that all valves, shall be installed have been tested before installed
 Make sure that all piping spool, shall be installed have been NDT before
installed
 Make sure that all instrument equipment have been calibrated before installed
 Remove all support, if not necessary to avoid obstruction during installation
 Closed valves at both or either of lines to stop the flow, if necessary
 Clean up the facing of valves, where valves have been testing previously
 Clean up the facing of blind/flange, prior to be installed
 Clean up the piping spool, which has been fabricated previously, prior
connected to existing line.

5.3 Depressurization system

 Make sure that all energy sources (gas or liquid) from other related piping
system have been isolated.
 Make sure that all connection on related piping system and equipments are
unpassing or blocked tightly.
 Slowly throttle open the high test and lowest valves existing line to release gas
trap on piping line, if any
 All by pass valves to be in opened position, if any
Contingencies shall be provided for the possible failure of the air
pressurization/conditioning unit and environment conditions as described in Section 3.1
Tie-in list being present for periods of up 6 hours.

5.4 Isolation system

 Close all valves to/from related piping system for isolation
 Rotate position of Spectacle Blind to closed position to block the back flow from
other flow sources

5.5 Cleaning methods

 Prior to commencement of tie-in execution the pipe spool shall be flushed prior
install with clean water to remove trash and debris
 When piping is removed for cleaning, it must be properly tagged to ensure that
it is returned to same location

6.0 SAFETY OBJECTIVE

6.1 Make sure that the operators are in possession of all the required permits from Unocal
before starting any job.
6.2 Remove all flammable items, and clean-up all oil and gas from working area.
6.3 Post a fire watch when cutting or welding. For personnel protection a fire blanket shall
be used when welding or cutting, and polyethylene when grinding.
6.4 For a successful job and life, keep safety first at all times. Watch out each other. If
there anything unsafe, then ask to stop and show the lanyards and tie offs.
6.5 Stay out from below all loads at all times.
6.6 When working overhead, remember to secure all tools.
6.7 When cutting or welding using a fire blanket (if need), secure the area and protect the
personnel below. When cutting items in elevated position, make sure to secure
preventing from falling

Cautions:
1. Never open or shut a valve
2. Never roll a spectacle blind or install a blind
3. Never open or close a drain valve
4. Never open or closed high point vent
5. Never hook-up stream or line to any system
6. Never shut down a steam or air line that is being used to clean a system
