How to Erase a
Slave Exec File on
a 4100ES Card

If a 4100ES Slave Card fails to respond or a download to a Slave Card becomes corrupted,
firmware is no longer valid. Erasing the Slave Exec .BIN file provides a hardware troubleshooting
method to start over with a Slave Exec Download of new firmware (see Tutorial F0074).
Follow these steps and click the corresponding movie to view the Slave Exec Erase procedure.

1. Locate the Address and Baud Rate switch, and record the Card Address.
2. Using a non-metallic tool, move all the switches to the OFF position.
3. Move Switch 5 to the ON position.
4. Move all the switches to the OFF position.
5. Reset the Card Address.
6. Perform a Slave Exec Download to clear the “Slave Needs Exec Download” Trouble Message.
