A report analysis on KIKUU's ecommerce website by CSIT 304 Group One

It is an undisputed fact that KIKUU is one of the fastest growing ecommerce websites in our part of
the world. However, as a typical digital marketing platform, it has its own short coming and this
analysis was carried out to help the organization to work on things that needs to be done for them
to have a competitive advantage over its opponents, to improve on the services rendered to
customers and the category of goods to produce to provide higher returns.

Our analysis was based on some data extracted from the KIKUU’s business page and below are the
kind of information extracted from the site. In our research because the business deals with a lot of
kinds of product we decide to focus on one category of products which is shoe. And we extracted
the name, price, discount, ratings and ratings colours available in stock, the sizes of the shoes and
the shipping and delivery information about each product.

Base on the data extracted we realize that the product with a discount in the store has lesser sales
than the product without a discount. Which shows that customer does not necessary care about the
discount on the product but other factors. Example is the casual breathable sneakers it was sold by
two different stores. All the two stores gave no discount on the item but it has received more orders
which is 3215 and 2119 respectively than other products which has 19% and 20% discount on them.
So, we will recommend that if there should be a discount then it should be for all products in that
particular category and also the company can introduce other forms of discount which will motivate
customers to buy from their site and doing that will give them more competitive advantage over its
opponents or competitors.

Again, the data extracted proves that customers tend to purchase products with more ratings. So,
for KIKUU to improve on its customer services, the organization should allow customers to comment
and add their ratings or reviews on each product so that other buyers who visit the site will get trust
in them. By allowing customers to add their reviews and ratings to each product will improve on the
services rendered to customers.

Furthermore, base on the data extracted it is very clear that products with known or popular brand
sells more than an unknown brand. So, the company should promote products with more brands
that will provide them with higher returns and should always make sure they have more of such
products in their stock.

In conclusion, the following are things even though it wasn’t captured in the data we extracted but
we observe when working on the website and we think if they work on it, it will help them to
maximize profit and also increase their competitive advantage. And this analysis includes them
improving on the quality of site search, since responsive web is a key for every website and to
include a live chat or tollfree number to their website to assist and guide customers. These and
above mentioned are what we think if the company take a look at it, it will increase their
competitive advantage over its opponents and improve on the services they render to customers
and the category of goods they can produce to provide higher returns.
