1 Câu đơn: câu chỉ có 1 cụm chủ vị

2 Câu ghép: câu được cấu tạo 2 hay nhiều hơn 2 mệnh đề độc lập

3. Đại từ quan hệ: thay thế danh từ nào thì đứng sao danh từ đó tùy thuộc vào danh từ

I. Subject relative pronouns: who, which, that

- who: người

- Which: vật

- that: cả 2

- mệnh đề tính ngữ chia làm 2 loại

+ mệnh đề hạn định (restrictive) cần thiết và k có dấu phẩy. dùng đc who,which, that

+ mệnh đề không hạn định( nonrestrictive): không cần thiết và có dấu phẩy dù bỏ mệnh đề vẫn
có ý nghĩa câu. K dùng that cho mệnh đề k xác định

- That không đứng sau dấu phẩy


- Có thể bỏ đại từ quan hệ -
+ sau 1 cụm giới từ
+ Động từ chính chia ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn
+ Động từ trong câu chia ở thì hiện tại đơn chuyển lại nguyên mẫu và thêm ing
+ Bị động: bỏ đại từ quan hệ và tobe
