Title: Thermographic Survey On Plant & Equipment.

1.0 Scope:
This procedure specifies the minimum requirements to carry out the
thermographic survey of plant and equipment.

2.0 Reference :
2.1 Thermogrpahy manual videotherm 94
2.2 Infra Soft –PS/2 (1.0) “Image” software
2.3 SNT – TC- IA 1996.

3.0 Inspection Personnel:

Persons performing this inspection shall be qualified for Thermography level II as
per SNT-TC-IA /1996.

4.0 Equipment:
4.1 Videotherm 94
4.2 VTR with tape
4.3 Computer with “Image” software and printer.

5.0 Procedure / Technique:

5.1 Thermography survey on plant and equipment shall be performed as per the
following activities.
5.2 Connect the power supply to VTR either by 12V-battery belt or by A/C
power supply 110V. The videotherm camera shall be connected to the VTR
through the 10-pin connector.
5.3 Switch the camera and VTR ‘ON’ and open the front lens cover.
5.4 Set the date, Time, emissivity & Focus by activating in current default menu.
Open the aperture to the required level by rotating the aperture ring.
5.5 Focus the camera at interested area on the equipment and measure the
temperature values either in Celsius or Fahrenheit
5.6 Record the Image on videotape through VTR by pressing play & Record
button on.

5.7 Connect the VTR to the Computer for temperature analysis and get the
recorded Image on the monitor by using the software “ Image”.
5.8 Through software set the temperature scale and documents like company
name,      equipment name & Thermal Image Temperature.
5.9 Connect the printer to software and get the print outs of the thermal Image.
5.10Prepare final report along with the required thermal image printouts.
