Read the Mission, Vision, Objectives of the Institute and the College of Nursing then answer the
following questions.

1. What made you decide to take up nursing?

ANSWER: Nursing has been my dream profession ever since I was young. I always
admired caring for patients and working inside a hospital. I knew I had to pursue it
because I discovered that it wasn’t only just about saving lives, but building relations and
providing comfort to families that need it most, which is very rewarding to me personally.
I also believe that I am passionate about anything related to healthcare which is why I
am driven to continue reaching my goal despite the very tough challenges I faced and
will be facing. Lastly, I want to make my parents proud, therefore I will do my best to
hone my skills and develop the qualities that will enable me to work optimally as a
Nurse.

2. What can you do to help achieve the mission and vision of the institute?
ANSWER: I believe that each individual must uphold to following the core values of the
institution and strive to enhance their potentials. The core values are actually the
foundation which shape individuals to exemplify the mission and vision standards of the
university. In order to become an excellent product of this institute, one must be rooted
to the university’s values and consistently do their best to observe accountability,
excellence, commitment, transparency, teamwork, integrity, and participation.

3. As a nursing Student how would you incorporate the goals and objectives of the College
of Nursing in your life?
ANSWER: One must appreciate the essence of nursing first to be able to live up to the
college’s goals and objectives. The goals and objectives serve as a direction for they are
crucial to the success of the students. In order to incorporate them, you should have a
clear vision of your desired result, make SMART plans that will enable you to work
effectively throughout your journey, and be very committed to achieving them. You
should know your deepest why and purpose for you to continue and become a globally
competitive nurse. You must always seek to unlock new skills and further improve your
knowledge when it comes to healthcare to be able to provide services specific to the
needs of the industry.
