PART 1. INTRODUCTION:
The study entitled “CLIMATE CHANGE AWARENESS AND ADAPTATION (CCA) IN
SCIENCE TEACHING – LEARNING” was conducted on selected elementary schools in
Baguio City. This study aimed to determine the level of awareness on the causes, effects, and
adaptation measures of climate change. It was created May 2018.

PART II. CRITICAL EVALUATION:

The creator of this research is Mary Ann Noda, A Master graduate from Wesleyan Grad.
School. The research presented objectively, the aimed of the study is to know the perceptions of
both teachers and learners’ relationship integration of Climate Change Awareness and
Adaptation (CCA) measures in Science Teaching and Learning functions. The aims of the study
were achieved. This study employed descriptive correlational research design that attempted to
determine the level of awareness in climate change and adaptation and it is effective in
portraying the purpose. The strength of this study is to educate the learners about climate change;
thus, it is more compelling to have further research on this aspect the importance of the
awareness and knowledge of the learners and the lack of study on the integration of CCA in
Science has motivated the researcher to conduct this research. However, the weaknesses of this is
study can’t be used by the future researchers in the hot places.
PART III.
Is there a significant relationship between the profile of the teacher-respondents and their level
of awareness on climate change causes, effects, and adaptation measures?
The researchers used general descriptive measures in the treatment of the data. These were
frequency count, weighted mean, and Spearman’s Rho Correlation. Likert scale was used and
to find correlation among variables Spearman’s Rho Correlation was also used. To interpret
the result of r, this was used. If they will have used the SPSS to find the result Paired Sample T-
Test should be used to answer the problem for the reason that is more valid.
Range of Spearman’s rho Strength of association Sign of r Nature of association
0 to 0.25 Negligible Positive (+) Direct
0.26 to 0.50 Weak
0.51 t0 0.75 Moderate Negative (-) Indirect
0.76 to 1.00 Very Strong

They used this to compare means the frequency count, weighted mean and percentages to
analyze the data for the reason that they were organized through table for easier presentation.
Then, further description, interpretation, and discussion were done.
