1. Greeting Teacher : Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb. Hello everybody!!!

Good morning... How are you today?
Dita : Good morning mam, I'm fine mam

Nada : Good morning mam, I’m also good mam

Teacher : That’s good guys, I hope the other also in the
good and health situation! Are you ready to learn today?
Students : Yes mam!
2. Appointing the Teacher : Alright, before we start our lesson today, let's
student to pray together and hopefully that our learning today can be
prayer blessed and usefull. okay guys let’s pray together first.
Pray... Begins... Finish.
3. Checking Teacher : I will check your attandence first. Nadia...
student Mar’atus... Nada... Umi...., alhamdulillah... everyone is
attendance presesnt today.
Students : (absent)
4. Apreception Teacher : Okay, Last week we have studied about the
definition of colloid, types of colloid, and the example of
colloid in daily life. Can you mention the example and
types of colloid in our daily life?
Nada : Soap foam that we used to take a bath miss is
froth/foam.
Teacher : Good Job Nada... How about the other?

Nadia : Me mam. Butter that we use to make cake miss, is

solid emulsion.
Teacher : That’s right Nadia. Anything else?
Umi : Me mam, milk that we drink in every morning mam,
is an emulsion.
Teacher : Good job Umi. The other?
Tutus : I want to answer mam, jelly or gelatin that we
consumed miss, is a sol.

5. Motivate Teacher : Very good Tutus. Okay, then "Have you ever
seen used cooking oil?"
Students : Yes mam, we have
Nada : after frying, my mom always have used cooking oil
mam.
Teacher : Yes nun, you right. We always used oil for
cooking, especially for frying. And "Anyone know how to
purify used cooking oil?"
Student : No miss.
Teacher : Okey, we will do an activities like experiment in
colloid materials with make group and fill the student
worksheet.
6. Conveys Teacher : Before we go to our lesson, I will inform you
learning the learning objectives :
objectves 1. Independently, you can explain the properties of

colloids and your application in everyday life

appropriately.
2. You can carry out oil purification practicum in
accordance with the procedures that have been
given properly, given tools and materials for
practicum and worksheets
3. By discussing with the group, you can present a
simple report on the observation results of the oil
purification practicum by making good use of the
adsorption principle using banana peels.

7. Teacher : Oke, I will give you the student worksheet, but
before it, I will divide you into 2 group that consist of 2-4
students and each grup will discuss about purifying oil.
Group one is contain Nada and Umi. Group two is
Mar’atus and Nadia. Any question? (give the student
woksheet).
Students : No mam.
Teacher : Now, open the second page. There are a
phenomenon in our daily life. Read the phenomenon and
then fill the blank space. Do the experiment appropriate
student wokrsheet, I will give you twenty minutes to
finish it.
Students : Ok mam.
Student do the experiment
After 20 minutes

8. Teacher : Now the time is out. Can you present your

result? Group 1 can you mention the formulation of
problem, hypothesis, and the variable of the phenomenon?

Group 1 :
- The formulation of problem is How to purify
cooking oil used charcoal?
- The hypothesis is Charcoal can purify cooking oil
using its colloid properties, namely adsorption
- And the variable are quantity of charcoal for
Manipulation variables; the time of cleaning for
Control variables; and color change in used
cooking oil for Response variable.
Teacher : Great group 1, how about group 2, is it
different?
Group 2 : No miss.
Teacher : Now, for group 2, show your observation result.
Group 2 :The first glass is contained 30 gr charcoal and
used cooking oil that have brownish colour. After twelve
minutes, the used cooking oil change to a clear oil. Then,
in second glass, that contained 20 gr charcoal and used
cooking oil that have brownish colour, after sixteen
minutes, used cooking oil change to clear oil. And the last
is third glass, that contain 10 gr charcoal, after twenty
minutes the brownish used cooking oil become claer.
Teacher : Good job group 2 How abot the others? Any
problem?
Group 1 : No ma'am

12. Conclussion Teacher : Then, after do the experiment, what is the
conclusion?

Nada: Me mam, used cooking oil given 30 gr charcoal

cleared faster than used cooking oil given 20 gr and 10 gr
charcoal.
Teacher : Great Nada, but why? What is the reason? Why
charcoal can purify the cooking oil?
Umi : Because charcoal have very strong absorption and
can absorb all impurities.
Teacher : is a good answer Umi, can the other explain the
adsorbtion process?
Tutus : Me mam. Adsorption is the absorption of ions or
electric charges and neutral molecules on the surface of
colloidal particles. If the absorption gets into the surface
(pores). So, the charcoal can adsorb the impurities of
cooking oil.
Teacher : Very good Tutus.
13. Greeting Teacher : Okey guys, I think all of you have done
understand the concept that we learn. For the next
material we will do daily test, you can prepare it with read
the others relevant literature or reference.
Student : Oke ma'am

Teacher : Before we close our meeting, any question?

Students : No, mam.
Teacher : If there is no question, I think is enough for
today, okay guys let’s pray together. Pray... Begins...
Finish.

Teacher : Hopefully this lesson will be usefull for you.

Keep spirit and stay healthy. The last I say,
Wassalamualaikum Wr. Wb.
