MOTIVATION LETTER

I am writing on behalf of my application to study towards Masters in Transition Management at

JLU Gießen. My name is JEEVAN THOMAS and I currently live in India. I have a small family
which includes my father, mother, and younger  brother. My father works in the police
department  and  inspires me to work hard for everything in life. I often look up to his motto
“Pioneering is not easy, Managing is”. My mother is a homemaker who controls everything from
home while holding our family together. My younger brother has completed his graduation in
B.sc Nautical Science and planning to go to Singapore.

My academic life started at V.C.S.H.S  SCHOOL, in India (Affiliated with the state syllabus)
which was one of the prominent schools in the state of Kerala. After having an eventful academic
life, I got enrolled in G.S.H.S.SCHOOL (Affiliated to state  syllabus) to complete my
intermediate education. After completing my grade school, I was accepted into Mahatma Gandhi
University to start my graduation. The curriculum offered at the college was comprehensive and
helped me in strengthening my knowledge of B.com.  I maintained a consistent academic record
by acquiring 75% in my 10th board, 77% in my higher secondary education, and finished my
graduate degree with a German grade of 2.9.

This year I found myself in the difficult transitional period between waiting to pursue
postgraduate studies and continuing my employment. Though I would have preferred to directly
continue my post-graduation after my under graduation, I opted to gain some work experience. A
couple of years away from school, I reasoned, would offer me the time needed to recuperate
from an exhaustive undergraduate education and gain some perspective. A break from school to
work has given me sufficient time to search and research for graduate programs that best that
suit my needs.JLU Gießen’s postgraduate program in Transition Management dominates largely
in my mind, especially because of its outstanding faculty and interdisciplinary approach
to  students. Besides Masters in Transition Management,  JLU Gießen will provide an ideal
climate for me to develop my cross-disciplinary interests. I am applying for a place on the
Transition Management Course at the UJLU Giessen because I am very much interested in the
modules covered particularly Agriculture and Food Management.

Choosing Germany as a country to pursue my masters was one of the easiest decisions I made
because the universities here are well known for quality education and have one of the most
accepted education systems in the world. After researching carefully to ascertain the best
university which provides a compendious program in the field of management, I choose JLU
Gießen. Without a doubt, this university seemed to be more suitable and also affordable for me in
comparison to other universities. This course is very distinctive because of the modules covered
and I am confident that it would help me in enhancing my career options. I truly believe that it
would be beneficial to get both practical and theoretical exposure through this advanced practice
course.

Understanding all this, I am sure that I have chosen an excellent University, which has a
magnificent campus and offers quality education  along with providing a diverse experience.
Furthermore, the campus safety along with various faculty staffs for guidance, makes it an
indisputable choice for me. Following this Course, I would like to pursue a career as a manager
with a government department or other government department or other public sector body and I
believe that this University has got the best medium to bring the best within me as a manager to
serve the organization I may joining in future.
  Regards,JEEVAN THOMAS
