STORY TELLING – TASK 1

Submitted by Pranav A Raj

1) Chair – We sit on a chair when we feel tired or just want to relax. The chair here can
be seen as friends who support us. So, a chair tells us that if we have friends with
whom we can lean on or depend on when we feel tired, it will make life far more
relaxing.

2) Handbag – A handbag usually has things that we consider as essentials that can be
used when we need it the most. And we usually put the stuff inside beforehand so
that we can use it when needed and we are prepared. So, a handbag teaches us that
being prepared for a situation is always good so that we won’t face any difficulties
afterwards.

3) Car – A car can symbolize speed. Speed is good but over speeding is not. Over
speeding can cause the car to go off the road and crash. Just like that in life when
doing things, over stressing yourself to do the work faster can make you crash just
like how the car crashed. Instead try to do the work in a pace which is apt for you as
well as the work in hand.

4) Cooker – Anything we cook in a cooker (pressure cooker) comes out soft. And this is
because the cooker works on it and makes the hard uncooked food that goes in to
make it the cooked soft food that is the end product. So, the cooker teaches us that
any hard problem will become easier or “softer” if we work hard enough on it.

5) Pen – Anything written with a pen cannot be erased. You have to strike/cut it out.
So, the life lesson we can learn from a pen is that whatever we say or do, it will
always leave a mark. And no matter how we try to cover it, it will always still be
there. So do or say anything thinking of what consequences it will have or give.

6) Windows – When you open a window and a calm breeze hits your face, I’m pretty
sure you feel very good. So, the window teaches us that when you “open up” to
others it will calm you down. But also, if it’s a storm or something, you will not feel
anything good. So that also shows us that only opening up to the right person will
make you feel better.

7) Spoon – There are different types of spoons that can carry different number of
things. A teaspoon cannot carry as much as a tablespoon. But that doesn’t make the
teaspoon useless. Just like that each person is different and have different capacities
or skills. You should never compare yourself to another and work to utilize your
capacity and skill to the maximum.

8) Television – A television has a lot of channels that gives or tells us a lot of things. But
all the things said in a television can not be considered correct or good. Just like this
we should not believe everything a person or other people tell us. We should always
check the fact before comprehending it as correct or false.

9) Fridge – When you open your fridge and you find something you like to eat in there,
it will make you happy. But in the same time if there is nothing to eat in there you
will feel disappointed. So, a fridge shows or teaches us that the doors of life will
always have happiness and disappointments.

10) Books – When reading a book, we always think or imagine what is happening in the
book in our minds. This makes the experience a whole lot better. So, a book teaches
us that being more imaginative in life will make it a whole lot better and interesting.

11) Mobile Phone - Let’s face it almost everyone has a mobile phone these days. Even
the loneliest of people have it. A mobile phone is like a companion to almost all of
us. It even helps us do a lot of stuff. So, I guess the mobile phone is trying to show us
that everyone needs at least one companion in their life.

12) Umbrella – An umbrella protects us from many external factors like rain, sunlight
etc. when they get too much for us to handle. Now who else is willing to support or
protect you when things get hard for us to bear? Our family and friends of course.
So, an umbrella shows us that it is ok to rely on your friends and family when things
get hard or tough.
